Educational Requirements:
∎ Bachelor/ Masters in any discipline.
∎ Graduate/ Post graduate degree in Textile Engineering/IPE, major in Garment/ Apparel Manufacturing Technology from BUTEX or any reputed university will get preference.
Experience Requirements:
∎ At least 15 year(s)

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Ensures development of a skills database organized by design.
∎ Plans technical innovations in production process for optimizing costs and reducing production lead time.
∎ Ensure proper use of CAD system and improved marker efficiency.
∎ Prepare weekly and monthly schedules for sample development, pattern preparation and rectification, and marker drawing.
∎ Coordinates with Marketing and P&D for sample development during the order booking phase.
∎ Coordinate with sourcing for information on fabric width.
∎ Approves the development sample to ensure adherence to buyer specifications before forwarding it to merchandisers for buyer approval.
∎ Initiates steps to minimize turnaround time of development sample while adhering to quality norms.
∎ Institutes strict quality control guidelines to ensure approval of development sample in the first instance.
∎ Coordinates with merchandizing executives and key personnel within P&D department to ensure timely development of various samples in accordance with buyer specifications and quality norms.
∎ Inspects and approves the 'Fit Sample' before sending to buyer for approval to minimize sample development iterations.
∎ Follows up with merchandisers on a continuous basis for sample approval and buyer feedback/ suggestions.
∎ Ensures timely preparation of counter sample and its availability with production department.
∎ Checks and approves size-set prepared by production department to ensure timely commencement of trial cut.
∎ Coordinates with production for trial cut and directs pattern rectification when required.
∎ Conducts as-is analysis of the capabilities and identifies products that can be developed with existing capabilities.
∎ Identifies future skill requirements for product development and recommends re-skilling initiatives to production and planning.
∎ Provides technical inputs to P&D operators as well as operators on the production floor in consultation with Production team.
∎ Inspects the mini-marker document and approves the consumption to ensure maximum fabric utilization.
∎ Provides inputs to marketing for preparation of costing sheet.
∎ Inspects fabric consumption for size-sets and approves consumption for bulk fabric booking by Sourcing department to ensure adherence to approved C/M estimate.
∎ Assumes responsibility for people development initiatives and building up of in-house capabilities aimed at succession planning for positions including and under him.
∎ Identifies high performers in the team and provides them with developmental opportunities to take on higher responsibilities.
∎ Interacts with all employees on a regular basis to understand their key concerns.
∎ Provides the necessary leadership and guidance to key employees and top performers through mentoring and identification of best practices to enhance performance excellence.
∎ Ensures high motivation among employees and retention of top performers.
∎ Any other day to day activities as and when required.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age 35 to 45 years
