Job Context:
Meghna Re-Rolling and Steel Mills Limited (MRSML), a concern of Meghna Group of Industries is going to establish a top-notch steel factory in Bangladesh with the latest European technologies and machinery having a production capacity of 1.5 million MT per annum. The vision of this concern is to produce world-class re-rolling products and billets which will meet the uprising demand in the local market and will also bring significant economic growth by exporting around the globe. We are encouraging competent and experienced professionals to apply for the position of Manager/ Senior Manager-Roll Shop. This role is accountable for planning and managing the availability of rolling and guiding equipment as per the production plan to ensure seamless operations and optimum utilization of resources within the module.
Job Responsibilities:
Supervise the machining of rolling and guide rolls, along with equipment fabrication, to guarantee timely and precise roll production that supports uninterrupted rolling operations.
Ensure roll stand and guide assemblies are available as per the rolling schedule, resulting in zero production delays and efficient process flow.
Evaluate, allocate, and oversee the use of resources, equipment, and associated materials to maximize operational efficiency and minimize waste.
Provide support for the repair and maintenance of spares at the plant as required, ensuring minimal equipment downtime and sustained production capacity.
Perform in-depth analysis of workshop machines, roll stands, and guide assemblies using key performance indicators to identify and implement improvements that enhance reliability and performance.
Plan and oversee the machining, grooving, and housing of rolls and guide rolls to maintain product quality and extend equipment lifespan.
Strategize, manage, and monitor the usage of guides, bearings, and other production-related consumables to reduce costs and optimize inventory levels.
Ensure that all workshop equipment is maintained promptly and effectively to prevent unexpected breakdowns and maintain continuous production.
Formulate action plans to minimize workshop downtime and breakdowns, leading to increased equipment availability and productivity.
Track and regulate costs to optimize spending on spare parts, achieving cost-effective maintenance without compromising quality.
Apply methods to lower mill roll usage and maintain lean roll inventory, resulting in reduced operational expenses and improved resource management.
Supervise the functioning of CNC roll turning, CNC notching, CNC wire cutting, lathe machines, surface grinding, shaper, and drilling equipment to ensure high precision and timely completion of machining tasks.
Manage and regularly update the Management Information System for comprehensive oversight of workshop operations, enabling data-driven decision-making and performance tracking.
Ensure adherence to ISO standards for quality, environmental, and occupational health and safety management systems to maintain compliance and promote a safe work environment.
Recognize safety risks, initiate improvements, and enforce preventive actions in compliance with legal safety standards, thereby reducing workplace incidents and ensuring employee well-being.
Collaborate with Unit Material Management and Logistics to secure the availability of workshop-related machinery and spares, ensuring uninterrupted production and maintenance activities.
