Responsibilities & Context:
Lead and manage the overall fabric R&D function.
Plan and execute new fabric, finish and garment development as per buyer inquiry and market trend.
Coordinate closely with Merchandising, Production, Quality, IE and Sourcing teams for development feasibility.
Lead laboratory, pilot and bulk trial programs for new materials and processes.
Ensure performance testing and analysis (GSM, shrinkage, color fastness, pilling, dimensional stability, etc.).
Review and approve development routes, construction, finishes and technical parameters.
Drive cost optimization, yield improvement and defect reduction through technical innovation.
Prepare and present technical development reports to management and buyers.
Support buyer meetings, technical presentations and factory audits related to development.
Build and develop the R&D team through training and technical guidance.
