Responsibilities & Context:

Job Description / Responsibility

Fire Safety Management & Compliance

  • Responsible for managing and overseeing fire safety matters across three (3) factories within the group.

  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive fire detection, prevention, protection, and emergency response systems and plans.

  • Ensure compliance with applicable requirements of NFPA, BNBC, RSC and relevant local laws, regulations, and fire safety standards.

  • Coordinate with Fire Service & Civil Defense and other relevant authorities, as required.

  • Coordinate and support internal, external, customer, and regulatory fire/safety audits and ensure timely closure of identified findings.

  • Fire Protection & Life Safety Systems

  • Ensure proper operation, inspection, testing, maintenance, and readiness of fire protection and life safety systems, including:

  • o Fire alarm and detection systems

  • o Fire sprinkler systems

  • o Standpipe and hydrant systems

  • o Fire pumps and related equipment

  • o Fire extinguishers and hose reels

  • o Emergency lighting and exit signage

  • o Passive fire protection systems

  • o Other firefighting and emergency response equipment

  • Conduct regular inspections of fire protection and life safety equipment and maintain accurate inspection, testing, and maintenance records.

  • Ensure fire exits, escape routes, stairways, emergency doors, and other means of egress remain accessible, unobstructed, and properly maintained.

  • Conduct regular fire drills and evaluate emergency evacuation performance, identifying areas for improvement.

  • Technical Design & Project Management

  • Prepare, review, and manage technical designs, BOQs, specifications, and cost estimates for fire protection and life safety systems, including:

  • o Fire sprinkler systems

  • o Standpipe and hydrant systems

  • o Fire alarm systems

  • o Fire pump systems

  • o Passive fire protection systems

  • Perform and/or review hydraulic calculations, battery calculations, voltage-drop calculations, and conduit calculations.

  • Conduct site surveys, inspections, and technical assessments for fire safety projects.

  • Plan, coordinate, monitor, and manage fire protection and safety projects from design through installation, testing, commissioning, and handover.

  • Review contractors’ work to ensure compliance with approved designs, project specifications, and applicable fire safety standards.

  • Ensure proper testing and commissioning of fire protection and life safety systems.

  • Team Leadership & Coordination

  • Lead and supervise Fire & Safety Officers, Fire Fighters, and other safety personnel.

  • Prepare duty rosters and ensure adequate manpower coverage across all shifts.

  • Assess team performance, identify competency gaps, and arrange appropriate training and development programs.

  • Develop team capabilities and promote a strong fire safety culture throughout the organization.

  • Ensure effective coordination and communication among Fire & Safety, HR/Admin, Engineering, Production, Maintenance, and other relevant departments.

  • Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders on fire safety-related matters.

  • Fire Risk Assessment & Emergency Preparedness

  • Conduct regular factory fire and safety inspections to identify hazards, unsafe conditions, and potential fire risks.

  • Recommend and implement appropriate corrective and preventive measures to mitigate identified risks.

  • Monitor the effectiveness of fire prevention and emergency preparedness programs.

  • Ensure appropriate emergency response procedures are established, communicated, and periodically reviewed.

  • Technical Skills & Other Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate proficiency in AutoCAD, Photoshop, and 2D/3D design tools relevant to fire safety projects.

  • Apply strong practical knowledge of fire detection, fire protection, fire safety planning, and relevant engineering principles.

  • Manage multiple projects and priorities effectively while working under pressure and meeting deadlines.

  • Perform any other fire safety-related duties and responsibilities assigned by management.
