Strong knowledge of plastics and injection molding processes.

Context:
The Manager – Factory Operations will be responsible for overseeing the overall factory production and operational activities of the plastics/injection molding manufacturing unit. The role will ensure smooth production planning, quality assurance, machine and mold management, manpower supervision, cost optimization, safety compliance, and timely delivery of quality products while achieving operational efficiency and productivity targets.

Job Responsibilities:

• Oversee overall factory operations and ensure smooth production activities in the plastics/injection molding unit.

• Plan, organize, and monitor daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules to achieve operational targets.

• Ensure availability of raw materials, molds, manpower, machines, and utilities before production starts.

• Monitor machine running status and maximize machine utilization, productivity, and operational efficiency.

• Supervise injection molding operations including mold installation, fitting, alignment, setup, and machine parameter control such as temperature, pressure, speed, cooling time, and cycle time.

• Ensure product quality according to approved samples, customer requirements, and buyer standards.

• Coordinate with QA/QC teams to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions to reduce rejection, rework, and scrap generation.

• Coordinate with maintenance teams for preventive and breakdown maintenance to minimize downtime.

• Ensure proper care, maintenance, and cleanliness of molds and production equipment to extend service life.

• Lead, train, guide, and motivate supervisors, operators, technicians, and helpers to improve performance and skill levels.

• Prepare shift rosters and ensure effective manpower planning and distribution.

• Maintain discipline, attendance, productivity, and behavioral standards across the factory floor.

• Monitor raw material consumption and implement initiatives to minimize wastage and operational costs.

• Analyze root causes of operational issues and implement continuous improvement initiatives.

• Optimize production processes to reduce power consumption, overtime, downtime, and manufacturing costs.

• Ensure proper housekeeping, workplace cleanliness, and implementation of 5S practices within the factory.

• Ensure all employees follow PPE requirements, safety procedures, and compliance standards.

• Monitor factory safety systems, machine safety guards, and emergency controls to ensure safe operations.

• Ensure compliance with labor law, social compliance, environmental regulations, and company policies.

• Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly production and operational reports to management.

• Coordinate with internal departments including maintenance, warehouse, supply chain, planning, HR & Admin, and commercial teams for smooth operational flow.

• Support management in budget control, operational planning, productivity improvement, and achieving business goals.
