Job Context:
∎ With the supervision by the “Senior Manager – Communication, Media, Advocacy & CwC”, the “Manager – CwC” will be responsible for implementation of the Communication with Communities (CwC) program under the Cox’s Bazar base of Action Against Hunger. Besides CwC projects management, s/he will ensure that Action Against Hunger’s active participation in external forums and coordination structures relevant to CwC.
∎ In order to accomplish the above, s/he will form and maintain a thorough understanding of Action Against Hunger’s history, values, culture, policies, long-term programming strategies, comparative advantage, core business and will carry out any relevant task assigned by the line manager.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Objective 1: Project Management: Communication with Communities (CwC) Program
∎ Under the supervision of line manager, plan and implement CwC program in Cox’s Bazar.
∎ With guidance of line manager, ensure smooth implementation of CwC activities (e.g. installation of Information Hubs) and delivery of high quality program.
∎ Under supervision of line manager, develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress.
∎ With close supervision of line manager, coordinate resources for flawless, on-time, rational and affordable execution of CwC projects.
∎ Forecast and track different budgets for CwC.
∎ Under supervision of line manager, implement proper monitoring and evaluation mechanisms for CwC activities in coordination with the MEAL team.
∎ With guidance of the line manager, document and capitalize CwC specific activities.
∎ Under the supervision of line manager, conduct different surveys & assessments.
∎ Generate CwC Project reports, APRs, 4Ws, SitReps, survey & assessment reports with compliance to donors’ guidelines and contracts.
∎ Actively contribute in CwC mainstreaming in ACF’s programming, led by ‘Communications & Advocacy unit’ based in mission office in Dhaka.
∎ Support the line manager to act as key focal for CwC in Cox’s Bazar.
∎ Objective 2: External Communication: Coordination, Liaison and Advocacy
∎ Under supervision line manager, coordinate with ACF’s partner agencies on efficient implementation of CwC activities in Cox’s Bazar.
∎ Support line manager to act as the focal for coordination and liaison with external stakeholders for base level advocacy for CwC mainstreaming.
∎ Participate in external platforms and networks to represent and promote ACF’s CwC program.
∎ Under supervision of line manager, facilitate donor visits, HQ staff visits, communication agencies visits.
∎ Support line manager to coordinate with ACF’s Communication & Advocacy unit based in mission office in Dhaka to highlight CwC programs in national and international platforms.
∎ Under supervision of line manager, develop an advocacy action plan for CwC mainstreaming in ACF’s programming.
∎ Support line manager to act as the focal to manage media queries and media relations, organize media visits to ACF centres.
∎ Support line manager in organizing media interviews to highlight CwC program.
∎ Identify opportunities to highlight ACF’s CwC work in the media.
∎ Support line manager to improve organizational capacity on CwC program implementation through training sessions.
∎ Organize events to highlight ACF’s CwC activities.
∎ Objective 3: Branding & Visibility
∎ Under supervision of line manager, standardize and ensure brand visibility of ACF and donors in all communications materials, including publications, banners of CwC program.
∎ Implement standardization of official formats and visibility materials in CwC programming.
∎ Under the supervision of the line manager, produce communication documents as per ACF brand standard and of high quality: newsletter, leaflets, annual report, factsheet of CwC program.
∎ Objective 4: Staffing & Team Management
∎ Under supervision of line manager, recruit team member as per approved organogram following ACF’s procedure and values.
∎ With guidance from the line manager, lead, mentor and evaluate supervisees of the CwC team.
∎ Develop capacity of team members.
∎ Foster a culture based on accountability.
∎ Coordinate the team throughout all project management phases.
∎ Ensure that all team members have the required information and resources to carry out their tasks effectively.
∎ Meet with individual team members to find and fix any issues consulting with the line manager.
∎ Objective 5: Proactively support ACFs commitments to gender equality, child protection and disability sensitivity
∎ Read and ensure a full understanding of ACFs Gender Minimum Standards & Child Protection Policies, asking questions and/or for support when necessary;
∎ Implement all work related activities with a gender, disability and child protection lens, taking into account the different needs, concerns and ideas of our staff and beneficiaries;
∎ Under the supervision of the Senior Manager – Communication, Media, Advocacy & CwC, ensure the incorporation of gender equity principles in all policies and activities;
∎ Encourage the participation of all genders in meeting and on committees;
∎ Help build an inclusive office environment where people do not feel disadvantaged or judged according to their gender or limited due to manageable disability.
Additional Requirements:
∎ extensive experience and demonstrated skills in project management, working with diversified stakeholders especially government officials.
∎ Creativity and initiative in identifying project needs.
∎ Ability to manage team remotely, generate high quality project reports.
∎ Experience on implementing information dissemination, community mobilization and communication with communities projects.
∎ Good organizational skills.
∎ Sound knowledge in working with MS Office (especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint), etc.
∎ Any international certification on project management is a plus.
Salary: Tk. 93699 (Monthly)
Compensation & Other Benefits:
∎ Festival Bonus: 1 month Gross salary every year.
∎ Provident Fund: 7.5% of Basic Salary.
∎ Performance Bonus: from 30 % to 80% of monthly Gross salary per year depending on performance.
∎ End of Contract Benefits: As per Organization policy.
