Job Context:
∎ The USAID Feed the Future Bangladesh Improving Trade and Business Enabling Environment activity (BITBEE) will support the Government of Bangladesh (GOB) to bolster economic growth and food security by improving trade facilitation, enhancing market access, and improving the business enabling market.
∎ The Mid-Level Legal Specialist will conduct research and comparative analysis on various regulatory issues related in the field of company law, administrative law, ICT policy and other areas.

∎ Employment Status: Non-Permanent Contractual Employee

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Provide support in identification and interpretation of relevant regulatory enactments and procedures, forms and other administrative documents
∎ Draft, or assist in the drafting of laws, regulations, policies, guidelines, and rules of procedure and provide support to relevant government stakeholders during the process of adoption
∎ Organize and participate in public consultations with government and private sector stakeholders
∎ Conduct reviews of regulatory frameworks, institutional structures, business processes, service delivery models
∎ Assist in the drafting and interpretation of policies and procedures involving administrative law issues
∎ Provide legal opinions and perform extensive legal research and analysis on a diversity of legal issues
∎ Collaborate with other team members to prepare annual work plans, quarterly reports, annual reports, and ad hoc report
∎ Draft legal documents, articles, reports, presentations, brief notes, and meeting minutes

Additional Requirements:
∎ Minimum of 5 years' experience in the practice of private law with a law firm, a government and/or an international organization's legal office
∎ Previous experience in the field of company law, law drafting, development and/or work experience with government bodies in Bangladesh is an asset
∎ Proficiency in Microsoft Office
∎ Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
∎ Proficiency in Bangla; strong skills in writing, editing, and oral communication in English are required

Salary:
∎ Negotiable based on experience, qualifications, and salary history.
