About the Role
Milky Fashions is looking for a dynamic, detail-oriented Junior Merchandiser to join our growing team. As a Buying House professional, you will act as the vital link between our international buyers and manufacturing partners, ensuring that product development and production timelines are met with precision.
Key Responsibilities
Sample Development: Assist in the end-to-end sampling process (Proto, Fit, SMS, and PP samples) and ensure comments from buyers are accurately executed.
Sourcing: Coordinate with suppliers for fabric, trims, and accessories; ensure all materials arrive at the factory on time (T&A management).
Order Tracking: Monitor daily production status at the factory level and provide regular updates to senior management and buyers.
Documentation: Prepare and maintain critical paths (Time & Action calendars), cost sheets, and internal order files.
Quality Liaison: Work closely with the QA/QC team to ensure the final product meets the buyer’s quality standards before shipment.
Requirements & Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design & Technology or Apparel Merchandising from BUFT (BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology) or Shanto-Mariam University of Creative Technology.
Alternative Education: Candidates with a degree in a related field but with 2+ years of solid experience specifically in garment merchandising will also be considered.
Experience: A minimum of 2 years of professional experience in an Apparel Buying House or Garment Manufacturing environment.
Skills:
Strong understanding of garment construction, consumption, and costing.
Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel for T&A and Costing).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
Ability to work under pressure and meet strict shipment deadlines.
