Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Textile Engineering, Materials Science, Polymer Science, Chemistry, Physics, or a related science/engineering discipline; a Master's degree in a relevant field is an advantage.
•Minimum 3 years' experience working in a research, analytical or testing laboratory in Bangladesh or abroad, with demonstrated hands-on expertise operating DSC and FTIR, including direct experience characterizing textile fabrics and yarns using these techniques.
•Working knowledge of, or hands-on experience with, other analytical instruments is a strong advantage.
•Prior experience supporting process-optimization work or new-product launch analysis in a textile, apparel or polymer manufacturing context is preferred.
•Prior experience analysing textile, polymer or apparel-related defect samples and conducting root-cause investigations is preferred.
•Strong analytical, observational and problem-solving skills, with close attention to detail and a methodical approach to investigation.
•Solid understanding of polymer/fibre thermal behaviour and infrared spectroscopy as applied to textile materials, finishes and coatings.
•Ability to interpret complex analytical data and to write clear, accurate, well-organized technical reports for technical and non-technical audiences.
•Fluent in Bengali (spoken and written); English at upper-intermediate level or above (spoken and written), sufficient for technical report writing and communication with management and international counterparts.
•Proficient in MS Office and data-handling/reporting tools; familiarity with instrument-specific software (DSC/thermal analysis software, FTIR spectral libraries and analysis software) is an advantage.
•Good communication and cross-functional collaboration skills, including the ability to work constructively with factory-based quality and production teams.
•Honest, self-motivated and comfortable working independently on analytical investigations while keeping project teams and management informed.
1. Thermal & Spectroscopic Analysis
Operate, calibrate and maintain DSC and FTIR instruments for fibre, yarn, fabric, coating and finish characterization.
Prepare and analyze textile and polymer samples for thermal, chemical and contamination assessment.
Use other laboratory instruments as required and prepare clear technical reports with data, interpretation and conclusions.
2. R&D Project & Process Optimization Support
Provide thermal and chemical characterization support for R&D, product development and process-optimization projects.
Analyze samples before/after heat-setting, curing, coating and finishing trials to identify material and process changes.
Support quality investigations and technical issue resolution during scale-up and production.
3. Equipment Care, Calibration & Safety
Ensure proper operation, preventive maintenance, calibration and servicing of assigned instruments.
Follow laboratory safety procedures for chemicals, reference materials and thermal analysis equipment.
4. Documentation & Compliance
Maintain accurate raw data, test records, instrument logbooks and sample traceability in accordance with laboratory SOPs.
Support laboratory quality systems and ISO/IEC 17025 documentation, where applicable.
