Qualifications & Experience

  • 10+ years of relevant operations experience, including at least 5 years in management; experience managing managers or multiple functions is preferred.

  • Experience in apparel, manufacturing, retail, sporting goods, or e-commerce is strongly preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of sourcing, supplier management, logistics, shipping, inventory, customer service, KPIs, and process improvement.

  • Experience with ERP systems, Microsoft Excel, reporting tools, and Monday.com is strongly preferred.

  • Excellent English communication, leadership, analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.

Position Overview

The General Operations Manager leads the Sourcing, Shipping, and Customer Service functions through their respective managers and reports directly to the CEO.

The role is responsible for aligning the three departments, setting priorities and KPIs, improving processes, resolving cross-functional issues, and ensuring reliable operations from supplier through customer delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Overall Operations Leadership

    • Lead the Sourcing, Shipping, and Customer Service Managers; set clear priorities, goals, KPIs, and accountability.

    • Translate company objectives into operational plans, review manager performance, and resolve cross-functional issues.

    • Identify major risks and bottlenecks; drive corrective actions and escalate significant issues to the CEO with recommendations.

  • Sourcing & Supplier Oversight

    • Oversee supplier performance, purchasing, production coordination, key negotiations, and commercial terms.

    • Ensure suppliers meet quality, pricing, capacity, lead-time, and delivery requirements while improving cost and efficiency.

  • Shipping & Logistics Oversight

    • Oversee shipping performance, freight, carriers, customs, shipment tracking, documentation, and delivery timelines.

    • Ensure delays and discrepancies are resolved promptly and drive improvements in freight cost, compliance, and delivery efficiency.

  • Customer Service Oversight

    • Guide the Customer Service Manager to maintain accurate, professional, and timely support and service standards.

    • Ensure order issues, complaints, and escalations are resolved effectively with strong coordination across Sales, Sourcing, and Shipping.

  • KPI, Reporting & Process Improvement

    • Establish and monitor operational KPIs; use data to identify trends, risks, costs, and performance gaps.

    • Provide the CEO with concise operational reports, drive corrective actions, and improve or automate workflows where appropriate.

    • Ensure effective use of ERP systems, reporting tools, and Monday.com for workflow tracking, task management, and cross-functional coordination.

  • Team Leadership & Development

    • Coach and develop departmental managers while building a culture of ownership, accountability, and collaboration.

    • Ensure effective delegation, workload allocation, performance management, and team development.
