Job Context:
∎ JOB PURPOSE: The Innovation Ecosystem and Partnerships Associate is responsible for developing strategic communications initiatives and knowledge materials for online and offline audiences to highlight the achievements, challenges and lessons learned in scaling diverse innovative initiatives of Social Innovation Lab. S/he is responsible for timely, accurate and high-quality informational materials, such as blogs, op-eds, reports, fact sheets, stories from the field etc. In addition, the associate will undertake knowledge management related activities to ensure that key lessons are documented and disseminated with the partners in the forms of reports and rigorous monitoring and evaluation.
∎ S/he is responsible for developing strategic communications and media initiatives and ensuring the production of a range of communications materials for the project, including for the project-specific platforms (e.g. virtual conferences, marketplaces), and for online and offline audiences. S/he is responsible for timely, accurate and high-quality informational materials, such as blogs, op-eds, reports, fact sheets, stories from the field etc.
∎ SAFEGUARDING RESPONSIBILITIES:
∎ Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the programme’s goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
∎ Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
∎ Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Communications and knowledge products:
∎ ? To produce a range of communications materials for the project e.g. blogs, op-eds, reports, fact sheets, stories from the field etc. to enhance public understanding of the project;
∎ ? To support the team in identifying and managing external partnerships, including but not limited to startups, social enterprises, factory owners, conference attendees, marketplace participants etc;
∎ ? To work closely with the digital marketing agency to ensure quality and timely deliverables on the objectives;
∎ ? To organise project-related webinars and support the project team in capturing training content for the innovation challenge participants in audio-visual format;
∎ ? To identify innovative opportunities and new communications tools and platforms which can serve to highlight the project;
∎ ? To support the project team in realising the virtual conference and innovation marketplace by producing relevant content, design and facilitation support;
∎ ? To collaborate closely with the BRAC communications department to advance regional and national visibility of the project;
∎ ? To manage a portfolio of pilots/ prototypes of innovations in the Bangladeshi RMG setting (at the later stage of the project) and other sectors as per BRAC’s priority, solve and escalate issues as per their gravity and ensure clear results from the experiments;
∎ ? Document lessons learned, challenges identified and possible solutions under scoping, partnership conversations, project delivery or field visits, meeting notes, and maintaining and disseminating knowledge materials to internal team or external stakeholders, as appropriate.
∎ ? Facilitate webinars, events, publications (blogs, op-eds, reports, fact sheets, stories from the field, etc.) for the practitioners from Global South to learn and explore low-cost innovations to address global challenges around financial inclusion. S/he will be encouraged to leverage the qualitative and quantitative data available within BRAC programmes and through external organisations to run small statistical analyses to build infographics, data-informed articles, etc;
∎ ? Maintain key relationship with external partners through regular communication;
∎ ? Scan and identify key dates and events for BRAC’s engagement in conversations on women’s financial inclusion, digital financial services, and inclusive policies in the global South. S/he will be encouraged to plan ahead to schedule communications pieces, engagements and event collaborations to align with key moments.
∎ Research coordination:
∎ ? Support the team to coordinate with partnering programmes and external stakeholders to conduct in-depth analysis and research on diverse topics for the creation of internal and external knowledge dissemination.
∎ ? Develop research proposals/briefs and terms of reference to onboard research partners tasked to create a body of evidence and test the impact of different interventions of BRAC’s.
∎ ? To support the team in the design and deployment of an international cross-university
∎ ? Research and contribute to innovative topics that can create new knowledge and insights.
∎ Reporting:
∎ ? Maintain thorough documentation of project updates and adjustments, and roll-out of implementation activities that can feed into Key Results proposed for the donor.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Good verbal and written communication in both Bangla and English
∎ Experienced in Data Visualization and Analysis tools
∎ 1-3 years of experience in the local or international corporate or development sector, preferably in knowledge management, partnership development and communications. Experience in M&E or research related activities will be given preference.
