Job Context:
∎ Currently Bangladesh Red Crescent Society is looking for a suitable Bangladeshi national for the following position of its Myanmar Refugee Relief Operation (MRRO), Cox`s Bazar:
∎ Purpose: Under the direct supervision of Director/ In-charge-MRRO, HR & Admin Officer will be responsible for overall HR & administrative activities of Myanmar Refugee Relief Operation (MRRO) project of BDRCS. The position will work in close coordination with NHQ HR, Deputy Director-MRRO, Program Manager, MRRO and another Project management team of Dhaka and Cox`s Bazar as well as Program Management team of UNHCR, Cox`s Bazar.
∎ Job nature Contractual.
∎ Duration of contract: Initially 01 year (with possibility of extension).
∎ Reportable to: Director, MRRO/In-charge, MRRO
∎ Duty station: MRRO, Cox`s Bazar.
∎ Lateral relationships :
∎ Establish and ensure effective working relationships with UNHCR, ICRC, IFRC and BDRCS delegates/staff.
∎ Ensure effective working relationship with the unit and other programs/ operations management/ staff.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Ensure necessary HR, administrative and logistical support to project team and perform day to day HR/ administration of project activities and for the facilitation of the exchange of information between related stakeholders in the project implementation process.
∎ Monitor and evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery methods and procedures following with organizational policy.
∎ Perform a variety of personnel administration functions; review & update of job descriptions, evaluation of performance and annual appraisals.
∎ Documentation and maintaining of personal files with accuracy and completeness.
∎ To manage, supervise and coordinate the activities and operations of the HR & Administration division in coordination with other departments including purchasing, budgeting, accounting (as required).
∎ Select, train, motivate, and evaluate assigned personnel; provide or coordinate staff development & trainings.
∎ Maintaining employee disciplinary issues/ grievance handling.
∎ Take part on preparing the annual budget; participate in the forecast of funds needed for staffing, equipment, materials, and supplies; monitor and approve expenditures; implement adjustments.
∎ Creating and updating the national and international staff contact lists (telephone, mobile, e-mail and address lists) as required.
∎ Serve as the liaison for the assigned department with other divisions, departments, and outside agencies; negotiate and resolve sensitive and controversial issues.
∎ Arranging various training, workshop, meetings, conference and various events as well as searching venues and booking.
∎ Participating with various purchasing functions; review and/or prepare bid packages for equipment or supplies; oversee the approval of all departmental purchase orders with the existing financial and procurement policy of BDRCS.
∎ Perform any other duties as instructed by the line manager.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age 30 to 42 years
∎ At least 5 years working experience in the field of HR & administration, preferably in multinational company/ development sector.
∎ Excellent communication skills in English and Bengali.
∎ Self-supporting in computers (MS Word, Excel, Access; PowerPoint.
∎ Personal Qualities: Strong presentation, methodological and logical approach to tasks and problem solving skills.
∎ Ability to organize, analyse and synthesise large amounts of information.
∎ Knowledge and understanding of RCRC Movement.
