Education:

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong design sensibility with a deep understanding of textiles, apparel, and accessories
  • Excellent business acumen with P&L management experience
  • Strong vendor management and negotiation skills
  • Proficiency in design tools such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or similar
  • Expertise in inventory management and retail operations
  • Leadership and team management skills with the ability to work cross-functionally

As part of our commitment to enhancing student and parent experience, we are expanding into retail operations through on-campus stores offering uniforms, sportswear, accessories, and branded merchandise across our educational institutions.

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Head of Retail to lead and scale our on-campus retail operations. This role will be responsible for the end-to-end management of the retail business, including product design, merchandising, sourcing, inventory, sales, and profitability (P&L).

The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in fashion design combined with merchandising and retail operations, and will play a critical role in building a cohesive product strategy aligned with brand identity while ensuring commercial success.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership & Business Management

  • Lead and drive the overall retail strategy across all campuses, ensuring alignment with organizational goals

  • Own and manage the P&L of the retail function, focusing on revenue growth, cost optimization, and profitability

  • Develop short- and long-term plans for scaling the retail business and enhancing customer experience

Design & Product Development

  • Lead the design and development of school uniforms, sportswear, and branded merchandise (e.g., T-shirts, hoodies, bags, caps, mugs, and accessories)

  • Ensure all products reflect strong brand identity, quality, durability, and current design trends

  • Oversee creation and implementation of design guidelines, ensuring consistency across all products

  • Stay updated on fashion trends, materials, printing techniques, and innovations

Merchandising & Sourcing

  • Plan and manage product assortment, pricing strategies, and seasonal collections

  • Identify, evaluate, and manage vendors and manufacturers to ensure quality and cost efficiency

  • Oversee procurement processes and ensure timely production and delivery

  • Negotiate contracts and maintain strong supplier relationships

Retail Operations & Inventory Management

  • Establish and manage efficient inventory systems to ensure optimal stock levels

  • Forecast demand and prevent stockouts or overstocking

  • Oversee visual merchandising, in-store display, and overall retail presentation across campuses

  • Ensure smooth day-to-day operations of all retail outlets

Stakeholder Management & Collaboration

  • Work closely with school leadership, administration, and marketing teams to align retail initiatives with academic calendars and events

  • Collaborate with internal teams to launch promotions and campaigns

  • Gather feedback from students, parents, and staff to continuously improve product offerings

Performance Monitoring & Reporting

  • Track sales performance, customer trends, and key business metrics

  • Prepare regular reports and insights for senior management

  • Drive data-based decision-making to improve product mix and sales performance

Working Conditions:

  • Occasional travel required for supplier visits, sourcing, and events
