Overview
The Head of Production is a senior leadership role responsible for end-to-end ownership of production planning, execution, productivity, efficiency, method engineering across Cutting, Sewing, and Finishing operations.
This is not a support function. The role carries direct accountability for production output, cost control, operational efficiency, enforcement of IE discipline, and buyer-facing compliance requirements. Reporting directly to the Plant Head / Managing Director, the position operates as a core member of the factory leadership team, with a decisive influence on cost structure, delivery reliability, production performance, and buyer confidence
Key Responsibilities:
Own and lead all production operations across Cutting, Sewing, Finishing, Packing, and Dispatch.
Act as the final decision-making authority on production-related matters, including resource allocation, production planning execution, line performance, and operational priorities.
Ensure achievement of production targets in terms of quantity, quality, efficiency, and delivery commitments.
Ensure effective execution of production plans in alignment with capacity, manpower, and machine availability.
Monitor production loading, line allocation, and resource utilization to maximize output and efficiency.
Coordinate closely with Planning and Industrial Engineering teams to achieve production objectives.
Drive factory-wide productivity improvement initiatives and ensure achievement of efficiency targets.
Identify and eliminate production bottlenecks, downtime, wastage, and operational inefficiencies.
Optimize manpower utilization and production costs while maintaining required quality standards.
Ensure products are manufactured according to approved quality standards and buyer requirements.
Monitor in-line and end-line quality performance and implement corrective actions where necessary.
Safeguard on-time shipment performance through effective production control and execution.
Ensure timely availability of raw materials, trims, accessories, and production inputs to support uninterrupted production flow.
Monitor material approvals, production readiness, and pre-production requirements before line start-up.
Coordinate with Supply Chain, Merchandising, and Warehouse teams to prevent production delays.
Ensure production operations comply with buyer requirements, company policies, and social compliance standards.
Maintain audit-ready production systems, records, and workplace practices.
Support buyer, customer, and compliance audits and ensure timely closure of production-related observations.
Work closely with Industrial Engineering, Planning, Quality, HR, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and Merchandising teams to achieve factory objectives.
Drive alignment between production goals, delivery commitments, compliance requirements, and profitability targets.
Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and operational excellence across departments.
Lead, develop, and manage production management teams, including Production Managers, Supervisors, and Line Leaders.
Ensure effective manpower planning, workforce discipline, and employee engagement.
Build leadership capability and succession strength within the production organization.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, quality, delivery, safety, and cost optimization.
Implement best manufacturing practices and standard operating procedures throughout the factory.
Establish a culture of performance measurement, accountability, and continuous learning.
