Minimum 3-5 years of experience as an IE strictly within the bag manufacturing industry (jute bag, non-woven bag, PP woven bag, or similar) — experience limited to garments/RMG (apparel) or any other field will NOT be considered.
strong knowledge of SMV, GSD, line balancing, and work-study techniques as applied to bag production
Proficiency in MS Excel and IE-related software/tools
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Responsibilities & Context:
We are a 100% export-oriented bag manufacturing unit based in Dhaka seeking an experienced Industrial Engineer (IE) to join our production team. Candidates without prior bag manufacturing industry experience will not be considered.
Note: Candidates with general apparel or RMG-only experience without direct bag/luggage background need not apply.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct time & motion studies (SMV calculation) specific to bag production lines
Line balancing and layout planning for sewing, cutting, and finishing sections
Conduct method study, time study, and workstation layout optimization specific to heavy-duty and complex bag manufacturing.
Monitor daily production efficiency, identify bottlenecks, and implement corrective action plans.
Set and monitor production targets, efficiency, and productivity (SMV/PPH tracking)
Capacity planning and manpower allocation
Identify bottlenecks and implement lean manufacturing techniques
Work closely with production, planning, and merchandising teams
Prepare daily/weekly IE reports (efficiency, DHU, productivity, etc.)
Train line supervisors and operators on new work aids, attachments, and improved operational methods.
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly productivity and efficiency reports for management.
