Job Context:
∎ We are looking for an experienced Head of IT to oversee all IT (Information Technology) functions in our company. He will be in charge of a team of IT and manage the company`s technology operations and the implementation of new IT systems and policies.
∎ An excellent Head of IT is very knowledgeable in IT and computer systems. He should have a solid technical background while able to manage and motivate people. The ideal candidate will be experienced in creating and implementing IT policies and systems that will meet objectives.
∎ The goal is to ensure IT systems and people are effective and functioning within the limits of budget, time and specifications of the company.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Lead IT strategic and operational planning by fostering innovation, setting priorities among IT initiatives, and coordinating the evaluation, deployment, and management of current and future IT systems.
∎ Anticipate and plan for future needs in a community which will continue to expand the variety and scope of its technology needs.
∎ Supervises daily operations of hardware, networks, operating systems and applications for administrative and instructional information technology applications.
∎ Devise and establish IT policies and systems to support the implementation of strategies set by upper management.
∎ Inspect the use of technological equipment and software to ensure functionality and efficiency.
∎ Identify the need for upgrades, configurations or new systems and report to upper management.
∎ Control budget and report on expenditure.
∎ Assist in building relationships with vendors and creating cost-efficient contracts.
∎ Data warehousing, architecture and networking along with knowledge of cloud platforms and technologies.
∎ Oversee IT operations and supervise systems and IT staff.
∎ Develop strategy as it relates to the organization's IT infrastructure (computer and information systems, security, communication systems).
∎ Ensure smooth delivery and operation of IT services by monitoring systems performance.
∎ Create processes and standards for selection, implementation, and support of systems.
∎ Provide direction, guidance, and training to IT staff.
∎ Managing the implementation, development, monitoring, maintenance, upgrading and support of organizational IT systems. This includes operating systems, servers, PCs, software apps, telephones, Camera and peripherals.
∎ Providing expert advice and support when systems are being upgraded or installed, or when there are conversions or file maintenance.
∎ Overseeing the development and enhancement of systems and integrating new systems with existing systems.
∎ Making sure written documentation is created and maintained. This includes user and system manuals, license agreements, and all documentation relating to modifications and upgrades.
∎ Keeping up with the most recent technologies and advising on what new technological solutions are needed. Stating a business case for their implementation, detailing how this will meet business and systems requirements.
∎ Negotiating with suppliers of hardware and software to get the best deal, including external support, and being responsible for contracting consultants and making service agreements.
∎ Creating a budget for each project as well as managing the financial aspects of the entire IT department, such as purchases and ongoing budgeting.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at most 40 years
∎ Proven experience as Head of IT or similar role
∎ At least 5 years of experience managing an IT department as similar role.
∎ Experience in analysis, implementation and evaluation of IT systems and their specifications
∎ Sound understanding of computer systems (hardware/software), networks etc.
∎ Experience in controlling information technology budget
∎ Excellent analytical and management skills.
∎ Excellent interpersonal skills.
∎ Through understanding of IT and practical applications to support the company's goals.
