∎ Organization Overview:
∎ Bangladesh International Tutorial (BIT) was opened in August 1983, by the Founder Principal Ms Lubna Choudhury. A great emphasis is given to Linguistics at BIT - hence the school teaches English, Bangla, French and Mandarin Chinese, up to `O` Level. In addition the school places emphasis on extracurriculr activities to develop a well rounded student. The school has about 1400 pupils.
∎ The school has about 250 staff including teaching and support. The school is split over Uttara and Gulshan campuses.
∎ Position Purpose
∎ The Head of Human Resources is a senior leader that provides strategic leadership in all human capital related matters as the School evolves its culture and processes into becoming a high performing institution.
∎ He/she will direct the HR function and be responsible for the strategic human resource planning required to deliver organizational effectiveness and provide the institution with the best people talent available and position it as an employer of choice in Bangladesh.
∎ This will be achieved by being aware of international best practice trends and processes and implementing appropriate best practice in the School
∎ Functional expertise will be delivered in compensation and benefits learning and development, talent resourcing and retention, employee relations, performance management and change management.
∎ Organizational Relationships
∎ Position Type: Permanent / Contract
∎ Reporting to: Founder / Principal
∎ Staff Responsible to you: Departmental Staff
∎ Hours of Work: Hours required to do the job. May be required to work days, evenings, weekends and public holidays. Must return to duty whenever needed.
∎ Functional Relationships:
∎ Internal Contacts: Other Directors/Teaching/Support Staff within the School structure.
∎ External Contacts: Bangladeshi human resource management community, Bangladeshi Government ministries related to Education and Labour, and other English Medium Schools.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Specific Duties & Responsibilities
∎ Serve as a trusted advisor to the Founder/Principal on strategic / HR matters and key members of the Executive team by providing strategic advice and direction to senior colleagues and staff across the School
∎ Develop a HR Strategy across the entire life cycle of the employee which is aligned to the School's ethos and culture.
∎ Ensure all activities, programmes and polocies are implemeted in a timely manner in accordance with the School's business plan.
∎ Provide oversite of the specialzed HR functions eg, Compensation and Benefits, Learning and Development, Performance Management, Employee Resourcing and Onboarding.
∎ Review and improve the effectiveness of the HR processes and procedures and reform/ rebuild existing processes to deliver more effective outcomes for the institution.
∎ Devise a progressive HR policy structure that is appropriate to the Schoo's ethos and culture towards becoming a leading school in the country.
∎ nsure recruitment, selection and onboarding is conducted in a timely manner so that classrooms are attended by qualified staff at all times and student teacher ratios are maintained at the optimum level
∎ Liase with a wide range of stakeholders (government, Universities, professional bodies and societies) in positioning the School's brand as a School of choice in Bangladesh and the top local and international Colleges and Universities.
∎ Ensure the School implements best practices in HR and supports the development of the skills, potential of its staff through appropriate training as required.
∎ Lead in managing major organizational change processes that are required to invigorate the School's institutional culture and deliver its strategic objectives
∎ Ensure there is a robust HR information system in place which meets the strategic and operational needs of the School.
∎ Ensure that the school is meeting all legal requirements regarding Bangladesh employment labour and other appropriate laws (eg Health and Safety) as necessary and seek external legal advice in these areas where appropriate.
∎ General Duties & Responsibilities
∎ The general duties and responsibilities of this in the the School are:
∎ Administrative Duties relating to all matters that the membership of a School entails, including School/Division wide activities.
∎ General Responsibility to undertake all other duties as directed by the Founder/Principal.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Internationally recognized professional qualifications will be a plus.
∎ At least 12 year of experience in the filed of HR (5 Years in managerial position)
∎ Significant experience of providing leadership to the human resources function of a complex organization. -Experience of improving internal processes and managing change
∎ Strategic thinking, Effective leadership, influencing skills, very strong interpersonal skills
