Job Context:
∎ This role requires the occupant to be capable of leading cross-functional teams on day-to-day activities, diagnosing complex issues on the various platforms, and playing a strategic role in platform/application architectural evolution.
∎ This position demands superior troubleshooting skills and extensive knowledge in monitoring and alerting mechanisms.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Manage and lead the regular DevOps functions, IT operation, Service Delivery etc. to ensure timely deployment, delivery of the products and/or day-to-day support to business stakeholders.
∎ Grow the DevOps environment by working closely with cross-functional teams like product management, sales development, customer support, development and testing teams.
∎ Oversee any recruitment and development of staff within the overall DevOps function of the group, in line with departmental and corporate guidelines.
∎ Work with the CTO to deliver a clear technology infrastructure strategy to support initiatives taken to achieve overall company goals and objectives.
∎ Work with respective departments and product/business owners to ensure delivery of a clear technical roadmap for the platform in order to support the product technical road maps for each product line.
∎ As a technology leader, ensure industry best practice is being adopted in terms of Architecture, Continuous Delivery and Integration, Deployment, Security, 3rd-level Support and Test automation.
∎ Take personal ownership of all infrastructure and development operations for the team and ensure that all work meets user and commercial objectives, is delivered on time, to budget and to the quality standards agreed.
∎ Execute the agreed upon technology strategy.
∎ Responsible for defining the System Development Life Cycle methodology and associated cross-functional tools to ensure adoption and continuous improvement.
∎ Play an active part in the continuous improvement of quality processes and standards to ensure that the organization provides efficient, high quality and cost-effective solution development.
∎ Develop process and documents to supports an iterative development methodology and a dynamic business.
∎ Ensure the quality of all deliverables by actively promoting quality throughout the division.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Strong agile development background and history of building teams to work in highly agile; cross-functional environments.
∎ Comfortable in leading and motivating highly talented teams with experience in working with and presenting to senior management leadership.
∎ Proven track record in leading similarly experienced DevOps teams delivering high-performance and resilient applications and infrastructures.
∎ Capable to create tools and automated workflow capabilities in order to enable the business’s software engineering teams to test and promote code across the engineering department.
∎ Collaboration and supportive attitude to provide hands-on support to the frontend and backend engineering teams by enabling the migration of platform services throughout transition periods.
∎ Good people and line management skills.
∎ Experience building/enhancing continuous delivery and continuous integration services.
∎ A strong passion for infrastructure as code and associated automation and provisioning tools.
∎ At least 10 years of working experience in a DevOps capacity within a fast-paced and fast-evolving environment.
