The SIMEC Foundation is seeking a high-performing Grant Officer (Research) with a specialized background in Research and Development (R&D) within the NGO sector. The primary focus of this role is to diversify funding streams by identifying, bidding for, and securing significant grants from national and international foundations and donor agencies. This is a results-oriented role operating under a target-based contract.
Key Responsibilities
Proactively research and identify potential funding opportunities from national and international NGOs, government bodies, and private foundations.
Lead the creation of high-quality project ideas and technical proposals, including detailed budgeting, log-frames, and timelines.
Draft and edit grant applications that clearly articulate project objectives, research methodology, and socio-economic impact.
Oversee funded projects to ensure implementation aligns with donor requirements and that budgets are utilized strictly according to the award terms.
Coordinate and maintain digital portal systems to ensure timely and accurate submission of various research and development projects for SIMEC Foundation.
Act as the primary point of contact for donors and partners, ensuring transparent reporting and maintaining the reputation of the SIMEC Foundation.
Maintain meticulous records of applications and deadlines; ensure all projects comply with legal, financial, and operational guidelines.
Provide internal training to teams on grant proposal development and project execution.
Requirements
Educational Background:
Master’s degree in a relevant field (Development Studies, Social Sciences, Economics, or related disciplines).
Experience:
Minimum 2 to 5 years of proven experience in NGO/INGO Research & Development (R&D).
Demonstrated track record of securing national and international grants.
Experience in Training Institutes or academic research environments is highly preferred.
Technical & Soft Skills:
Proficiency in both qualitative and quantitative research methods.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and data analysis tools (e.g., SPSS, Kobo Toolbox, NVivo, or Python).
Strong ability to prepare complex project budgets and financial reports.
Exceptional English and Bengali writing skills, with the ability to liaise with international funding bodies.
Familiarity with academic publishing platforms and submission processes.
