Educational Requirements:
∎ Bachelor/ Masters in any discipline.
∎ B. Sc in Textile Engineering from any reputed university preferred.
∎ Educational qualification may be relaxed in case of highly experienced candidate.
Experience Requirements:
∎ At least 5 year(s)
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Evaluate workmanship, quality and construction of garments samples, to determine the correctness.
∎ Provide remedial advice to factories on the detected discrepancies with regard to workmanship & construction of garments and also, in the case of fabrics on issues like shading, weaving defects etc.
∎ Identify and establish key fabric trends for the upcoming season covering woven fabric for all products and prepare key trend presentations to the buying and design teams.
∎ Gather information to create tech packs where appropriate.
∎ Problem shoot and manage critical path when required.
∎ Provide technical support to customers, including advice on fabric and construction, fit and sizing, and quality issues.
∎ Manage the product development process, including sample approvals, fitting sessions, and pre-production inspections.
∎ Assist in Garment costing, consumption, pattern development & grading as required.
∎ Ensure fabrics dimensional stability as per buyer's requirements.
∎ Ensure the dyed fabric quality according to the standard requirements.
∎ Ensure & arrange all types of test for the fabrics.
∎ Ensure harmless fabrics production which is totally free from RSL.
∎ Regular visits & interaction with mills.
∎ Check shrinkage / color fastness & GSM of each batch.
∎ Follow-up all the sample stages.
∎ Check quality of woven fabrics.
∎ Final inspection of fabric orders.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age 28 to 40 years
∎ At least five years work experience in the same or similar role with excellent experience in apparel industry
∎ Up to date with the latest fabric and sustainability trends, best practices and textile processes - spinning, weaving, dyeing and finishing. Working directly with mills, agents and manufacturers.
∎ Understanding of print techniques, cost & capabilities.
∎ 3D technology skills and experience
∎ Ability to build clear, confident, positive communication with company colleagues and suppliers with the ability to form relationships, influence, and work collaboratively across the business
∎ Good interpersonal, influencing, listening, organizational, presentation and decision-making skills
∎ Self-motivated and able to work under pressure, quickly and efficiently
∎ Excellent communication skills & fluent in English – written & verbal.
