Job Responsibilities:
∎ Procurement Strategy: Develop and implement procurement strategies for chemicals and raw materials, aligning them with the organization's business objectives and cost-saving targets.
∎ Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and manage suppliers of chemicals, negotiating contracts, and establishing long-term partnerships with reliable and cost-efficient suppliers.
∎ Sourcing and Purchasing: Source and purchase chemicals and raw materials required for production or other commercial purposes, ensuring the right quality, quantity, and timely delivery.
∎ Price Negotiation: Negotiate with suppliers to obtain the best possible prices and terms for chemical procurement, keeping in mind market conditions and industry standards.
∎ Cost Optimization: Continuously work to optimize procurement costs and identify opportunities for cost reduction without compromising on quality and safety.
∎ Supply Chain Coordination: Collaborate with the supply chain and logistics teams to ensure smooth transportation and delivery of chemical materials to the organization's facilities.
∎ Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with the procurement process, such as supply shortages, price fluctuations, and geopolitical factors affecting the supply chain.
∎ Contract Management: Manage contracts with suppliers, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions, and handling any issues or disputes that may arise.
∎ Quality Assurance: Work with quality control and assurance teams to ensure that chemicals procured meet the required quality standards and specifications.
∎ Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated with relevant regulations and standards related to chemical procurement and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and requirements.
∎ Market Research: Conduct market research and analysis to identify new suppliers, products, and market trends in the chemical procurement industry.
∎ Budgeting and Reporting: Prepare and manage the procurement budget, monitor expenses, and provide regular reports and updates to senior management.
∎ Vendor Performance Evaluation: Evaluate supplier performance based on factors like quality, delivery timelines, and service, and implement improvements where necessary.
∎ Environmental and Safety Considerations: Ensure that the procurement process aligns with the organization's environmental and safety policies, promoting sustainable and safe practices.
∎ Team Management: Supervise and lead a team of procurement professionals, providing guidance and support to achieve departmental goals.
