As a member of our SysOps team, you will be responsible for contributing to the architecture, design, automation, deployment, monitoring, and senior-level support of our solutions and services.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ In this multifaceted role, the DevOps Engineer will be responsible for:
∎ Working side-by-side in a truly collaborative manner with our architecture, operations, sales, marketing, compliance, and executive leadership team to provide best in class solutions, services, and customer support.
∎ Collaborating with your peers on the SysOps team to ensure that our solutions and services meet and exceed our client's expectations and achieve our rigorous quality standards.
∎ Typical job functions include:
∎ On-going Sysadmin work on bare metal and AWS instances.
∎ Proactive system/network monitoring.
∎ Proactive system capacity planning.
∎ Deployment and task automation utilizing Salt/ Ansible or other methods.
∎ Issue/Incidence response.
∎ Code-level analysis of issues including root cause determination and/or potential code fix.
∎ Peer-level customer support for low-level, highly-technical issue resolution.
∎ Development and Maintenance of Development & Deployment Environments
∎ Work with Development team to understand DevOps need & implement accordingly.
∎ Work with compliance team to implement controls and other security needs.
∎ Continual improvement on the system as a whole.
Additional Requirements:
∎ 3-5 years of Linux administration and engineering experience including a deep understanding of the Linux networking stack at the kernel level.
∎ 1-3 years Linux scripting experience or an equal level of level of proficiency in another language.
∎ Interpersonal Communication Skill
∎ Good in verbal and written English
∎ Knowledge of modern virtualization technologies (KVM knowledge is a plus).
∎ Experience deploying a host virtualization platform. Specific experience with a cloud platform not required.
∎ Experience hardening Linux hosts (with SELinux a plus)
∎ Container/Cloud Management (Kubernetes, Terraform, Docker, etc)
∎ Having led, or participated in, the implementation of at least one configuration management system (Ansible, Salt Stack, etc.)
∎ Familiarity with Java Programming and Java based system deployment
∎ Experience in building & maintaining CI/ CD pipeline
∎ Experience with fully implemented automation workflows.
∎ Hands-on networking experience and a strong foundational knowledge of networking models including VLAN's, routing, bridging, etc.
∎ Web Server experience (SAAS experience a huge plus)
∎ Prior experience working in a start-up operation is strongly desired but not required.
∎ We need people who know how to work independently and make things happen.
∎ Excellent communication & Interpersonal skills (written and verbal).
∎ Strong application, operating system, kernel, and hardware debugging skills.
∎ The ability to demonstrate a high degree of passion for your craft is a requirement.
