Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Prepare work plan for the identification, design and installation of WASH technologies for communities/schools/industries/healthcare facilities for the respective office in consultation with Manager Technical and other concerned staff.
∎ Keep information flow smooth through involving the regional coordinator and ensure the smooth communication for any related issue.
∎ Participate in selection process of appropriate technologies and sites at communities/schools/industries/healthcare facilities considering the geo-hydrological situation, climatic condition and disaster of the intervention areas, gender and inclusion etc. as well as proper consultation with the user’s group.
∎ Prepare detailed design of the selected technologies at communities/schools/industries/healthcare facilities considering the geo-hydrological situation and other important factors including the WASH programme/project guideline, Bangladesh building code, etc.
∎ Support the Technical Officer/Associates/Assistant in preparing detailed drawing and bill of quantity (BoQ) with specification of each of the components of the WASH facilities and vetting those for finalization.
∎ Assist the procurement team at local offices and Technical Officer/Associates/Assistant to procure quality materials by maintaining legal procedure of the organization and inspection of quality of each materials/services by the Technical Officer/Associates/Assistant.
∎ Regularly monitor & supervise the construction works for ensuring the quality of entire works, communicate with masons/workers and vendors according to field findings and recommend for any modifications or corrective measures.
∎ Conduct field visit in regular basis to follow-up and monitor the functioning of WASH facilities and discuss the findings with the users group at sites as well as document for sharing with the concerned colleagues of WASH programme.
∎ Support the team to ensure the quality of water of the installed water supply technologies after the installation and before using by the user community, collecting water samples and testing with field kits as well as collection water samples properly and send it for laboratory test.
∎ Prepare draft guideline/training module, organize and conduct training/orientation for entrepreneurs/Mason and Sinker groups etc. on proper installation/construction of WASH facilities (safely managed as per SDG criteria) and sustainable O&M for caretakers, WASH committees, etc.
∎ Collect technical information on WASH technologies, prepare periodic report and share information with the concerned colleagues of WASH programme as well as keep the record of the project document and any other related documents.
∎ Establish effective communication and coordination with different stakeholders at district/upazila level for collecting updated WASH information and sharing the information on BRAC WASH programme/project such as DPHE, LGED, LGIs (Union Parishad, Pourashava), WASH Entrepreneurs, Sinker group/Mason, Suppliers, WASH Committees, Forums, etc.
∎ Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme's goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
∎ Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
∎ Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.
