Educational Requirements:
∎ Bachelor of Science (BSc) in CSE, Master of Science (MSc) in CSE
∎ Skills Required: Database Administration, Oracle, Oracle Database
Experience Requirements:
∎ At least 4 year(s)
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Create and maintain all databases required for development, testing, and production usage.
∎ Perform the capacity planning required to create and maintain the databases. The DBA works closely with system administration staff because computers often have applications or tools on them in addition to the Oracle Databases.
∎ Plan, design and implement various database high availability solutions among RAC, ADG, etc.
∎ Perform ongoing tuning of the database instances.
∎ Install new versions of the Oracle RDBMS and its tools and any other tools that access the Oracle database.
∎ Plan and implement backup and recovery of the Oracle database.
∎ Implement and enforce security for all of the Oracle Databases.
∎ Perform database re-organizations as required to assist performance and ensure maximum uptime of the database.
∎ Put standards in place to ensure that all application design and code is produced with proper integrity, security and performance.
∎ Provide technical support to application development teams. This is usually in the form of a help desk.
∎ Enforcing and maintaining database constraints to ensure integrity of the database.
∎ Administer all database objects, including tables, clusters, indexes, views, sequences, packages and procedures.
∎ Assist with impact analysis of any changes made to the database objects.
∎ Troubleshoot with problems regarding the databases, applications and development tools.
∎ Create new database users as required.
∎ Design and implement database in accordance to end users information needs and views.
∎ Use high-speed transaction recovery techniques and backup data.
∎ Minimize database downtime and manage parameters to provide fast query responses.
∎ Provide proactive and reactive data management support and training to users.
∎ Determine, enforce and document database policies, procedures and standards.
∎ Perform tests and evaluations regularly to ensure data security, privacy and integrity.
∎ Monitor database performance, implement changes and apply new patches and versions when required.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at least 28 years
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
∎ Oracle Certification is big plus.
∎ Experience of oracle data warehouse is a great plus.
∎ A good knowledge of the operating system(s).
∎ A good knowledge of physical database design.
∎ Ability to perform both Oracle and also operating system performance monitoring and the necessary adjustments.
∎ A good knowledge of Oracle security management.
∎ Sound communication skills with management, development teams, vendors, systems administrators and other related service providers.
∎ Strong analytical and organizational skills.
∎ Excellent knowledge of data backup, recovery, security, integrity and SQL.
∎ Familiarity with database design, documentation and coding.
∎ Be self-driven and able to work independently as well as in a team.
∎ Must be proactive, energetic and determined to meet deadline.
∎ Sincerity, honesty, hard work will be the key focus and target oriented.
