Educational Requirements:
∎ Minimum of master's degree in Statistics, Applied Statistics, Data Science, Population Science, Economics, or any other discipline from any reputed university.

Job Context:
∎ Contract Type: Contract with E-Zone/Special Agreement with E-Zone
∎ Contract Start Date: July 1, 2023
∎ Objective of the programme: We are looking to recruit a Data Science and Research Assistant who will be responsible for assisting in the process of research, data analytics and visualizations collaboratively with both internal and external stakeholders. The person will work with UN Agency and Government Agencies to discharge his/her responsibility.
∎ Administrative Issues:-
∎ Office place, the working station will be in Dhaka.
∎ Consultant will be responsible to pay all taxes as per government rules and regulations. E-Zone will make statutory deductions towards income tax as per government rules and regulations.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Conduct desk and field level research on various projects activities:
∎ Assist in undertaking needs assessment, situation analysis and feasibility study to identify the problem areas.
∎ Assist in determining research methodology, study design, study framework, sampling, and data collection process.
∎ Assist in baseline and endline studies.
∎ Develop questionnaires to collect data.
∎ Develop online data entry tools based on the questionnaires and conduct piloting of the questionnaires.
∎ Assist in organizing case studies, key informant interviews, FGDs and public and private consultation.
∎ Develop a database template to store clean data.
∎ Assist in data analysis and report writing.
∎ Perform statistical data analysis:
∎ Perform cleaning and preprocessing tasks to prepare data of various projects and research for analysis.
∎ Apply statistical techniques to analyze data and extract meaningful insights.
∎ Assist in developing and implementing machine learning models to solve business problems and improve decision-making.
∎ Conduct A/B tests and optimization experiments to evaluate and improve model performance.
∎ Create visual representations of data and dashboards using charts and graphs to communicate findings effectively:
∎ Assist in identifying the objective of the dashboards and plan for organizing the graphs and charts in the dashboards.
∎ Assist in showing performance of dashboard based on dummy data.
∎ Prepare the dashboard with interactive graphs and charts, insights, and recommendations with real data.
∎ Assist in incorporating the feedback on the dashboard.
∎ Any other related tasks as maybe required or assigned by the supervisor.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Knowledge of research methodologies is required.
∎ Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in data science, such as Python or R is required.
∎ Experience with SQL for data manipulation and extraction is also beneficial.
∎ Strong understanding of applied statistical analysis, machine learning algorithms, and data modeling techniques is required.
∎ Knowledge of artificial intelligence will be an added advantage.
∎ Knowledge of data cleaning, transformation, and preprocessing techniques is required.
∎ Familiarity with data visualization libraries and tools, such as Matplotlib, ggplot, Tableau, or MS PowerBI to effectively create interactive dashboards for co n mmunicating insights is desirable.
∎ Knowledge of cloud computing is desirable.
∎ Experience with digital data collection tools development is desirable.
∎ Knowledge of SPSS and Stata is desirable.
∎ Strong working knowledge of working with MS-Office is required.
∎ The ability to identify business problems, formulate analytical approaches, and develop innovative solutions is required.
∎ The ability to work quickly and efficiently to tight deadlines is required.
∎ Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and collaborate with colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
∎ Knowledge of current trends, challenges, and opportunities of the tourism sector in Bangladesh is desirable.
∎ Essential: Fluency in speaking and writing in Bangla and English.
