Job Context:

∎ Contract Type: Fixed Term
∎ The Data Collection Assistant - Research is primarily responsible for collecting data from the selected respondents from refugee camps and host community and also maintain coordination and communication with relevant partners and departments.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ To collect quantitative and qualitative data at field level according to guideline.
∎ Attend survey training and field test with attention and perform well in standardization test.
∎ Receive all necessary logistics, questionnaire, stationeries, anthropometric tools and other equipment before the beginning of the data collection day.
∎ Check their sufficiency and functionality every day before starting work
∎ Ensure that all questionnaires and equipment are accounted for at the end of each day
∎ Locate/verify/identify the eligible sample/HH/respondent and manages the questionnaires.
∎ Measure and Record anthropometric measurements of children (weight, height, mid-upper arm circumference, presence of oedema).
∎ Conduct interviews with respondents using tablet device.
∎ Conduct qualitative data collection, focus group discussion, semi structure interview.
∎ Use an appropriate tool (local events calendar, immunization card, birth certificate etc.) to estimate the age of a child.
∎ Record responses as instructed
∎ Comply with the requirements necessary for conducting a successful interview
∎ Assist Data Information Manager/Team Leader in data entering, organizing and cleaning.
∎ Turnover all questionnaire and materials used in the survey to the Team Leader.
∎ To ensure quality of the data collection
∎ Follow the protocol during anthropometric measurement and interview.
∎ Ensure that questionnaire interview and record the information correctly an consistently from household to household.
∎ Ensure that the anthropometric measurements are taken and recorded in hard copy accurately.
∎ Ensure questionnaire checking thoroughly more than one time before given to Team Leader sitting in the household
∎ Ensure revisit the household through volunteer with absent cases
∎ Check all Questionnaires before finalization and report to the survey supervisor.
∎ Closely communication with the Team Leader if any new instruction comes from him follow it
∎ Sharing any types of problem and challenges related with survey quality
∎ Data and information management:
∎ Submit observation summary note to survey Team Leader in each area considering the health, nutrition and socio economic structure, social practices and belief among the communities and target population including problem encountered and solution made during data collection.
∎ Proper use of anthropometric back up form.
∎ Checked daily collected data.
∎ Note and report the problems encountered to the Team Leader.
∎ Strong flexibility in terms of time and task may require for accomplishment of the survey successfully and in time.
∎ COVID-19 situation special self-protection and mental preparation during survey
∎ Self-awareness and self-protection during COVID-19 situation
∎ Strong mental preparation to work during COVID-19 situation
∎ Use personal protective equipment’s (PPEs) like mask, gloves, hand sanitizer to ensure personal and team’s safety
∎ Strictly maintain social distance during data collection and interview
∎ Must follow all government instruction against COVID-19

Additional Requirements:
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
∎ Fluency in Bengali and Chittagonian dialect
∎ Knowledge of data collection tools: KOBO, MS Excell
∎ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
∎ Ability to ask questions and listen without bias;
∎ Sensitivity to a local context;

Salary: Tk. 36574 (Monthly)

Compensation & Other Benefits:
∎ Festival Bonus: 02 basic salary per year.
∎ Provident Fund: 7.5% of Basic Salary.
∎ End of Contract Benefits: As per organization policy.
∎ Medical coverage: 80% hospitalization coverage medical expenses (max limit BDT 120,000 per year).
∎ Group Life insurance and Group Personal Accidental Insurance
∎ Maternity Benefit: 3 (three) basic salary.
∎ Birth Allowance, Marriage Allowance, etc.
