Experience:

• At least 5 years

• Master`s degree in a relevant field, such as Environmental Science, Climate Change, Development Studies or Project Management.

• At least 5 years

• At least 5 years of professional experience in relevant positions with INGOs focusing on Climate Resilience, DRR or Preparedness.

• Familiarity with (inter)national frameworks, policies and funding mechanisms on climate change and climate resilience

• Experience in developing proposals, concept notes, designing assessments, and implementing projects focused on climate resilience.

• Excellent knowledge of climate risk analysis, mitigation strategies and capacity building in theis sector.

• Excellent verbal and written communication in English and Bangla with strong interpersonal communication, team management and planning skills

• Willingness to obtain necessary vaccinations to work in Welthungerhilfe`s programme countries; Regional experience in South Asia would be an advantage.

Job Summary:

• As WHH climate resilience expert, you will contribute to the project in the area of capacity building to provide technical support to Partnerorganisations and WHH staff, supporting the country office in analyzing current climate challenges in Bangladesh and in developing response and mitigation approaches to improve and advocate for climate resilience in Bangladesh in accordance to Welthungerhilfe Policy and Procedures. You will also provide expert advice on the implementation and development of programs as well as projects based on the regional and sectoral portfolio.

Your Responsibilities:

• Conduct in-depth analyses of current and emerging climate challenges in Bangladesh to inform programmatic interventions.
• Design and advocate for innovative response and mitigation approaches to be adapted and streamlined in WHH projects, tailored to the specific cultural, ecological and socio-ecologic context of Bangladesh.
• Provide expert guidance and technical support on climate resilience for the formulation, implementation and improvement of WHH interventions in Bangladesh.
• Support WHH to advocate for climate resilience through technical support on IEE design and engagement with stakeholders, donors and government representatives.
• Strenthen the skill and knowledge of WHH staff and partner organisations to effectively address climate resilience.
• Work closely together with the Programm and MEAL team of WHH in Bangladesh to ensure climate resilience being included in the impact assessment, documentation and lessons learnt of ogoing and future interventions.
