Job Summary

The Civil Engineer will be responsible for planning, execution, and supervision of civil construction works for Real Estate projects, with a strong focus on multi-storied basement construction. The role requires practical, on-site experience in basement excavation, shoring, waterproofing, RCC works, and coordination with consultants and contractors to ensure quality, safety, and timely project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Planning & Execution

·   Plan, execute, and supervise civil works for high-raised buildings with minimum two-storied basements.

·   Manage basement construction activities including excavation, dewatering, shoring/strutting, raft foundations, retaining walls, and waterproofing systems.

·   Interpret and implement structural drawings, GFC drawings, and specifications.

·   Prepare construction methodologies and work schedules for basement and superstructure works.

Site Supervision & Quality Control

·   Ensure all construction works comply with approved drawings, BOQs, and technical specifications.

·   Monitor quality of materials, workmanship, and RCC works including reinforcement, formwork, and concreting.

·   Conduct inspections and coordinate with third-party testing agencies for soil, concrete, and materials testing.

Coordination & Communication

·   Coordinate with structural consultants, architects, MEP teams, geotechnical consultants, and contractors.

·   Liaise with local authorities and ensure compliance with statutory approvals and safety norms.

·   Attend project review meetings and provide progress updates to management.

Safety & Compliance

·   Ensure adherence to safety standards, especially during deep excavation and basement works.

·   Implement risk mitigation measures for adjacent structures during basement construction.

·   Maintain proper site documentation including daily progress reports, inspection checklists, and method statements.

Cost & Time Management

·   Assist in quantity estimation, material planning, and cost control.

·   Monitor project timelines and take corrective actions to avoid delays.

·   Support billing, measurement, and contractor evaluations.

Required Qualifications

·   Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized institution.

·   Professional certifications (if any) in construction management or safety will be an added advantage.

Experience Requirements

·   Minimum 5-8 years of practical experience in civil construction within the real estate sector.

·   Mandatory experience in construction of at least two-storied basements for high-rise buildings.

·   Proven exposure to deep excavation, raft foundation, diaphragm/secant pile walls, retaining systems, and basement waterproofing.

Technical Skills

·   Strong knowledge of RCC design and construction practices.

·   Proficiency in reading and interpreting structural and architectural drawings.

·   Familiarity with IS codes, safety standards, and construction best practices.

·   Working knowledge of AutoCAD, MS Excel, MS Project (or similar planning tools).
