Position Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Endoscopy Assistant with a minimum of 8 years of experience assisting physicians during Endoscopy, ENT procedures, and Colonoscopy examinations. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing patients, assisting during procedures, handling endoscopic equipment, ensuring infection control, and providing high-quality patient care before, during, and after procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist physicians during Upper Gastrointestinal (GI) Endoscopy, Colonoscopy, and ENT diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.

  • Prepare examination and procedure rooms before each patient.

  • Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process and ensuring proper positioning.

  • Verify patient identity, medical history, consent forms, and procedure requirements.

  • Prepare and arrange endoscopes, ENT instruments, accessories, and medical supplies.

  • Assist in the insertion, handling, and removal of endoscopic equipment during procedures.

  • Monitor patients' vital signs before, during, and after procedures under physician supervision.

  • Assist in specimen collection, labeling, and proper transportation to the laboratory.

  • Perform cleaning, disinfection, sterilization, and proper storage of endoscopes and reusable instruments according to infection control guidelines.

  • Ensure all endoscopy and ENT equipment is functioning properly before procedures.

  • Report equipment malfunctions and coordinate repairs or preventive maintenance.

  • Maintain adequate inventory of endoscopy accessories, consumables, and medical supplies.

  • Prepare biopsy forceps, snares, injection needles, clips, and other accessories required during procedures.

  • Provide post-procedure patient care and monitor recovery until discharge.

  • Maintain accurate procedure documentation and patient records.

  • Follow infection prevention, sterilization, and patient safety protocols at all times.

  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, quality standards, and healthcare regulations.

  • Support emergency endoscopic and ENT procedures when required.

  • Train and supervise junior assistants and newly recruited staff.

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the procedure room and equipment.
