Medical Officer — Job Responsibilities & Context

• Provide medical consultation, clinical assessment, diagnosis, and appropriate treatment to patients.

• Take patient history, perform physical examinations, and evaluate clinical conditions.

• Prescribe medications and recommend appropriate investigations, referrals, or follow-up care.

• Monitor patients’ progress and maintain accurate medical records and clinical documentation.

• Handle emergency and urgent medical cases and provide appropriate first-line management.

• Coordinate with specialists, nurses, laboratory staff, and other healthcare professionals to ensure effective patient care.

• Review laboratory and diagnostic investigation reports and correlate findings with clinical conditions.

• Educate patients regarding treatment plans, medication use, preventive healthcare, and lifestyle modifications.

• Ensure compliance with clinical protocols, infection-control standards, patient-safety procedures, and healthcare regulations.

• Participate in health screening, medical camps, awareness programs, and other institutional healthcare activities when required.

• Maintain confidentiality of patient information and demonstrate professional and ethical conduct.

• Perform administrative and reporting duties related to medical services as assigned by the organization.
