Experience

  • Experience on disease prevention and health promotion strategies.

  • Basic PC skills: Word, Excel, Power Point, Email (Gmail/Outlook)
  • Leadership and team building/management skill
  • Good knowledge of humanitarian action and will to take part in PULSE and MdMJ actions

Language

  • Good communication skills in Bangla and English.

Job Purpose of Medical Officer (NCD Doctor):

The Medical Officer (NCD Doctor) will be responsible for providing quality primary health care services at the Health Post, with a particular focus on prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up of non-communicable diseases (NCDs), alongside general outpatient, maternal health, first aid, and referral services in Project for promotion of primary and secondary prevention of non-communicable diseases and strengthening its follow-up system in Forcibility Displaced Myanmar Nationals in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh. The position ensures adherence to national guidelines, proper referral practices, and quality clinical care in a humanitarian setting.

Health Post Service Delivery and Day-to-Day Operations

  • Ensure smooth delivery of daily Health Post services according to the approved service package.
  • Provide clinical oversight during duty hours and ensure continuity of essential services, especially NCD-related care.
  • Coordinate with nurses, paramedics, and health staff to ensure patient flow and service efficiency.
  • Report any operational gaps, staff absence, or support needs to the Program Officer or Medical Coordinator.

Patient Care with Focus on NCD Services

  • Provide outpatient consultation and treatment for general illnesses, minor injuries, and common communicable diseases.
  • Diagnose, treat, and manage non-communicable diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, asthma, and other chronic conditions following standard treatment protocols.
  • Conduct clinical assessments, review basic diagnostic tests, and develop appropriate treatment and follow-up plans for NCD patients.
  • Provide counselling on lifestyle modification, medication adherence, diet, and long-term disease management.

Referral and Follow-up

  • Identify patients requiring secondary or tertiary level care and refer them according to established referral guidelines.
  • Prepare referral documentation and explain referral decisions clearly to patients and caregivers.
  • Coordinate with referral facilities and follow up referred and chronic NCD patients in collaboration with health staff and community workers.

Reporting, Records, and Stock Monitoring

  • Maintain accurate OPD, NCD, ANC/PNC, referral, and morbidity registers as per project and health sector requirements.
  • Prepare and submit weekly and monthly clinical activity reports to the Program Officer.
  • Monitor medicine and medical supply usage, ensure rational prescribing, and inform management about stock shortages in a timely manner.

Quality Assurance and Infection Prevention

  • Ensure clinical services are delivered in line with national guidelines, WHO standards, and Health Sector protocols.
  • Supervise infection prevention and control (IPC) practices including waste segregation and safe disposal.
  • Support continuous quality improvement through case review and on-the-job guidance to health staff.

Coordination and Compliance

  • Maintain close communication with the Facility-in-Charge, Medical Coordinator and Program Officer for technical and operational guidance.
  • Coordinate with Health Sector, camp authorities, health partners and other stakeholders as required for service delivery and referrals.
  • Comply with organizational policies including HR policy, PSEA, Code of Conduct, and workplace safety policies.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the authority relevant to Health Post operations.
