∎ JOB PURPOSE: As a business designer - BRAC is looking for someone who will blend creative thinking, business acumen and entrepreneurial mindset - to structure the business impact of design at a strategic, operational and organisational level. As a Business Designer, s/he will collaborate with BRAC-internal or external partners to identify design opportunities, and create meaningful user experiences.
∎ Some representative cases from the Business Innovation Unit:
∎ Designing the go-to-market strategy for a chain of land-based legal service clinics in Bangladesh;
∎ Collaborating with a travel-tech start-up to design low-cost air-ticket products for Bangladeshi labour migrants;
∎ Designing an innovation challenge for identifying and prototyping business innovations to future-proof the livelihoods of women garment workers of Bangladesh.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Passionate about trying out new things and experimenting with new tools and methods rather than focusing on best practices. Using ambiguity and uncertainty as an advantage to generate innovative outcomes.
∎ Have a strong strategic, analytical and problem-solving skills that balance with creative design approaches.
∎ Facilitate communication across disciplines at the project level to create alignment and efficiencies.
∎ Research materials from a wide variety of client materials, interviews, external sources, analytics, and data sources to build a business background point of view.
∎ Bring human-centered design methodology at the core of every design, which includes:
∎ - Articulating how the new offerings will solve the need of BRAC clients,
∎ - Discovering willingness-to-pay,
∎ - (If internal-facing) Identifying how the new offerings are strengthening the already-existing portfolio of BRAC programmes.
∎ Work with the team to bring new opportunities to life through storytelling. .

Additional Requirements:
∎ History of tackling and solving complex business or academic challenges; a strong personal mission to help find truths and challenge orthodoxies.
∎ Experience with Excel and/or other analysis tools, PowerPoint, Keynote and/or Adobe Creative Suite for presentation purposes. Familiarity with InVision, Sketch, or other prototyping methods. Ability to learn how to use new tools in real time.
∎ An absolute professional who leads by example, treats peers and partners with respect, and seeks and gives constructive feedback.
∎ Successful candidates will combine rigorous business acumen across many of the following areas, along with world-class depth in one: Finance, Product Development, Product Management, Start-ups, Marketing (Product or Brand), Strategy, Organizational Behaviour, Operations, and Design.
∎ Demonstrated fluency with the human-centred design process and an ability to work in multidisciplinary design teams.
∎ Experienced in or passionate about working in the developing world and tackling challenges related to poverty.
∎ Having worked in a consultancy or financial services firm is a big plus.
∎ 1-2 years of experience in the development sector or corporate sector preferred
