∎ JOB CONTEXT
∎ Applications are invited from business development service ("BDS")/ SME finance/ green finance professionals willing to lead the BDS team responsible for driving the BDS activities under the "Access to Green Financing for Enterprises" programme supported by the Embassy of Switzerland in Bangladesh and implemented by iMPACT Booster Holding B.V. in partnership with Truvalu and One to Watch.
∎ "Access to Green Financing for Enterprises" is a multi-year programme that aims to facilitate capacity development, technical assistance, and access to green financing for SMEs across all sectors in Bangladesh. The programme will actively engage with SMEs, financial institutions (FIs), impact investors (IIs), and policymakers to facilitate access to green financing for SMEs, aiding them in both adapting to and mitigating the risks associated with climate change. The programme is expected to generate a positive impact by empowering marginalized communities and SMEs in Bangladesh, fostering climate resilience and developing low-carbon solutions.

It has a focus on climate change and renewable energy.
∎ JOB OBJECTIVES
∎ The candidate will lead the BDS team which will mainly be responsible for supporting small and medium-sized enterprises, in particular, women-focused enterprises through advisory support to help them better cope with and contribute to the consequences of climate change mitigation, reduce environmental degradation and enhance their business skills.
∎ Under the leadership of the BDS Lead, the BDS team will work to strengthen the capacity of selected SMEs including women-focused enterprises, to cope with climate change, to develop business skills increasing their capacity to grow and to compete, and to become investment-ready for accessing finance in the form of debt or equity. This team will implement all required training, workshops, and coaching for entrepreneurs and will also coordinate among all relevant stakeholders.
∎ JOB LOCATION
∎ Based in Dhaka, however, frequent travel outside of Dhaka will be required.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Strategic Planning:

∎ Develop and implement a strategic plan for providing technical assistance to SMEs in Bangladesh to enhance their access to green finance.
∎ Collaborate with key stakeholders to align technical assistance initiatives with the broader objectives of the green finance program.
∎ BDS Design and Implementation:

∎ Develop and implement a comprehensive BDS design and implementation plan ensuring adherence to programme timelines.
∎ Oversee the day-to-day operations of the BDS team to achieve qualitative and quantitative outcomes and intended impact.
∎ Client Engagement:

∎ Build strong relationships with SME clients to understand their business needs and challenges.
∎ Conduct thorough assessments of clients' operations to identify areas for improvement and growth.
∎ Technical Support:

∎ Provide hands-on technical assistance and guidance to SMEs in adopting innovative technologies and best practices.
∎ Collaborate with external technical experts to address specific challenges faced by SMEs.
∎ Capacity Building:

∎ Develop and deliver training programs to enhance the technical skills and capabilities of SME owners and employees.
∎ Identify and facilitate relevant workshops, seminars, and training opportunities for continuous learning.
∎ Market Analysis:

∎ Stay abreast of industry trends, market dynamics, and regulatory changes affecting SMEs in Bangladesh.
∎ Analyze market data to provide strategic insights and recommendations for business development.
∎ Business Planning:
∎ Assist SMEs in the development of comprehensive business plans, including financial projections and growth strategies.
∎ Work closely with clients to implement and monitor the execution of business development initiatives.
∎ Financial and Strategic Advisory:
∎ Provide financial guidance to SMEs, including budgeting, financial modelling, and access to funding opportunities.
∎ Facilitate connections with financial institutions, investors, and relevant stakeholders.
∎ Networking:
∎ Establish and maintain strong networks with industry associations and other key players in the business ecosystem.
∎ Leverage these networks to create business opportunities and collaborations for SMEs.
∎ Reporting and Documentation:
∎ Maintain detailed records of client interactions, progress, and outcomes.
∎ Prepare regular reports on the impact of technical assistance interventions.

Additional Requirements:
∎ At least 5 years of progressive and relevant work experience in the field of business development services especially with SMEs.
∎ Ability to design and implement BDS activities (online and offline) in coordination with programme team members.
∎ Good understanding of SME and green financing products, climate change issues, green businesses, green audits, green banking, and environmental impact measurement.
∎ Demonstrated knowledge and experience related to SMEs, private sector, and entrepreneurship development in the country.
∎ Hands-on work experience in delivering enterprise-level advisory/consultancy support.
∎ Hands-on work experience in conducting management staff training for industries/SMEs.
∎ Strong network with relevant market actors and capacity to develop effective relationships with various stakeholders including SMEs.
∎ Capacity to facilitate and communicate with different SMEs and stakeholders.
∎ Working experience and familiarity with the development efforts of international development partners, INGOs, and NGOs.
∎ Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and tasks efficiently in a high-stress environment.
∎ Excellent time management skills, resourcefulness, with strong attention to detail.
∎ Excellent computer literacy in MS Office programs (specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and Google Workplace.
∎ Compelling presentation and influencing skills.
