Education:

Educational Requirements :

  • B.Sc. in Textile Engineering (Fabric Engineering, Wet Processing, Yarn Manufacturing, or related discipline)

    Experience Requirements :

  • 7–8 years of experience in Knit Composite Manufacturing.

  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in Fabric Technology or R&D.

  • Experience in knitted fabric development, dyeing, finishing, and fabric testing.

  • Experience working with international apparel brands and retailers is preferred.

  • Handle UK brand especially

  • Strong knowledge of knitted fabric structures and properties.

  • Fabric development and engineering expertise.

  • Understanding of dyeing, finishing, and garment wash processes.

  • Knowledge of textile testing standards (AATCC, ASTM, ISO).

  • Fabric costing and consumption analysis.

  • Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and problem-solving techniques.

  • ERP and Microsoft Office proficiency.

Responsibilities & Context:

Job Context:

AKH Knitting & Dyeing is a 100% export oriented knit composite factory. We are looking for a experienced Assistant Manager / Sr. Executive - fabric technologist and R & D who support the development, innovation, and commercialization of knitted fabrics by coordinating fabric research, new product development, laboratory evaluation, process optimization, and customer requirement analysis. The position is responsible for ensuring that developed fabrics meet quality, performance, cost, and sustainability requirements while supporting business growth and customer satisfaction.

                                                                                                                

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop new knitted fabric qualities according to buyer requirements and market trends.

  • Conduct research on fiber, yarn, knitting, dyeing, finishing, and garment performance.

  • Evaluate innovative raw materials, specialty fibers, and sustainable fabric solutions.

  • Prepare fabric development plans and timelines for new projects.

  • Work closely with merchandising and marketing teams to convert customer inquiries into commercial products.

  • Conduct trials for new fabric constructions, blends, and finishing techniques.

  • Analyze test results and recommend process improvements.

  • Maintain records of development projects, trial reports, and technical findings.

  • Benchmark competitor products and market innovations.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the factory.

  • Analyze fabric specifications, technical data sheets, and customer requirements.

  • Calculate GSM, stitch density, shrinkage, width utilization, and fabric yield.

  • Ensure developed fabrics meet required physical and chemical performance standards.

  • Troubleshoot fabric quality issues and provide technical solutions.

  • Coordinate with Knitting, Dyeing, Finishing, Quality, and Production teams.

  • Monitor pilot and bulk production performance of newly developed fabrics.

  • Coordinate fabric testing activities in accordance with AATCC, ASTM, ISO, and buyer standards.

  • Review laboratory test reports and approve development samples.

  • Ensure compliance with color fastness, shrinkage, pilling, spirality, dimensional stability, and other performance standards.

  • Support root cause analysis of laboratory and production failures.

  • Communicate with buyers regarding development requirements and technical issues.

  • Promote sustainable materials and environmentally friendly processes.

  • Maintain development trackers and technical databases.

  • Prepare weekly and monthly R&D reports.

  • Document lessons learned and technical standards for future developments.

  • Ensure confidentiality of proprietary developments and customer information.
