Responsibilities & Context:

  • Ensure compliance with applicable fire safety laws, regulations, and factory requirements.

  • Regularly inspect fire alarm systems, smoke detectors, fire extinguishers, hydrants, fire pumps, emergency lights, exit lights, fire doors, and other fire safety equipment.

  • Ensure all fire safety equipment is accessible, functional, properly maintained, and clearly identified.

  • Monitor the Central Fire Detection System (CFDS), fire alarm, emergency lighting, and other fire protection systems.

  • Conduct regular fire risk assessments and identify potential fire hazards.

  • Ensure emergency exits, stairways, aisles, and evacuation routes remain clear and accessible.

  • Prepare and maintain emergency evacuation plans, fire safety procedures, and related documents.

  • Organize and conduct regular fire drills, evacuation drills, and emergency response training.

  • Coordinate and provide training to firefighters, fire wardens, rescue team members, and employees.

  • Ensure adequate numbers of trained firefighters and emergency response personnel are available in each shift.

  • Investigate fire incidents, near misses, and fire-related hazards and recommend corrective and preventive actions.

  • Follow up on corrective actions and ensure findings are closed within the required timeline.

  • Coordinate with maintenance, engineering, production, HR, security, and other departments regarding fire safety issues.

  • Coordinate with Fire Service & Civil Defence (FSCD) and other relevant authorities when required.

  • Support the preparation, renewal, and updating of the factory fire license and related approvals.

  • Ensure newly constructed buildings, sheds, rooms, and other areas are properly covered by fire safety systems and approvals.

  • Maintain fire safety inspection records, testing certificates, training records, drill records, equipment maintenance records, and other relevant documents.

  • Support internal and external audits, including customer, third-party, social compliance, and RSC audit.

  • Ensure proper housekeeping and safe storage of flammable materials and chemicals.

  • Monitor hot work, electrical safety, and other activities that may create fire hazards.

  • Prepare regular fire safety reports and update management on major risks and corrective actions.

  • Perform any other fire safety-related duties assigned by management.
