Job Summary:
The Assistant Manager – Refrigerator Maintenance will be responsible for ensuring all refrigeration systems (chillers, freezers, cold rooms, display coolers, compressors, etc.) operate efficiently. The role involves planning preventive maintenance, handling breakdown issues, supervising technicians, ensuring safety compliance, and supporting smooth store operations through timely repair and maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor the performance and operational efficiency of refrigeration units across all branches and work locations.
Diagnose technical issues in chillers, freezers, cold rooms, compressors, evaporators, condensers, and HVAC-related equipment.
Ensure timely repair during breakdowns to prevent product loss and minimize operational downtime.
Maintain accurate temperature calibration in line with product storage standards.
Develop and execute preventive maintenance schedules on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis to enhance equipment longevity.
Conduct regular inspections of refrigeration systems to detect early signs of faults and wear.
Maintain detailed service logs, technical records, and equipment maintenance histories.
Conduct routine site visits to assigned branches to monitor equipment condition and operational compliance.
Provide on-site technical support during emergency situations or critical equipment failures.
Ensure outlet-based maintenance technicians adhere to SOPs and standard operational protocols.
Supervise refrigeration technicians, assign daily tasks, and monitor task completion.
Conduct hands-on training sessions for junior technicians on troubleshooting, safety, and maintenance best practices.
Evaluate technician performance, provide constructive feedback, and implement improvement plans.
Coordinate with third-party service providers for specialized repairs and technical assistance.
Manage spare parts inventory and ensure the availability of critical components for uninterrupted operations.
Evaluate vendor performance, negotiate service contracts, and procure equipment/tools at competitive prices.
Ensure all refrigeration systems comply with safety, regulatory, and food safety standards.
Implement energy efficiency initiatives and cost-saving measures without compromising system performance.
Maintain comprehensive documentation for audits, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency.
Assist in preparing annual maintenance budgets, monitor expenses, and ensure cost-effective solutions.
Prepare regular reports on system performance, downtime analysis, maintenance activities, and preventive measures.
