Experience:

• 3 to 5 years

• Bachelor/Honors

• Engineering major preferred at Bachelor level.

• 3 to 5 years

• Proven experience in facilities or plant & property maintenance or equivalent related functions.
• Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge, particularly regarding Coffee Roasting machines, Espresso machines, Grinders, and Bakery equipment.
• Passion for diagnosing and fixing mechanical systems.
• Strong all-rounder with the ability to apply knowledge and skills to new and quickly evolving roles and tasks.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Well-organized, detail-oriented, and customer (internal and external) focused self-starter.
• Good knowledge and experience in using Microsoft Office suite products (MS Word, MS Excel, etc.).
• Men management skills are preferred.
• Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks efficiently.

The Position:

We are looking for a passionate and skilled Assistant Manager - Facilities to support North End’s Facilities team. This role requires an individual who can ensure the smooth functioning of all equipment, machinery, and facilities within our Cafés, Roastery, and Bakery. The ideal candidate will possess mechanical and electrical expertise, demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills, and exhibit a strong commitment to maintaining high operational standards.

Reports To: Manager - Facilities

• Supervising multi-disciplinary teams of staff including cleaning, maintenance and security.
• Assist in planning and coordinating maintenance schedules and repairs for all facilities, focusing on Coffee Roasting machines, Espresso machines, Grinders, Bakery equipment (gas and electric ovens, mixers, cold rooms, dough sheeters, heaters, etc.).
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues for various production and service machinery, including Boilers, Compressors, AC systems, and Cold Rooms (both positive and negative temperature).
• Maintain proficiency in handling equipment like mixers, sheeters, and heaters.
• Support the Facilities Manager in overseeing technicians and contractors, ensuring optimal performance and men management.
• Coordinate with vendors for timely servicing, repairs, and supply management.
• Conduct regular inspections to identify and resolve potential issues, ensuring cleanliness and functionality.
• Implement safety protocols and ensure facilities comply with legal standards.
• Track and maintain inventory of supplies, spare parts, equipment, and tools required for maintenance.
• Assist in scheduling and executing minor and major facility projects and renovations.
• Provide after-sales support for espresso machines and coffee grinders.
• Deliver exceptional customer service aligned with North End’s standards.
• Be available to handle emergencies outside office hours, ensuring uninterrupted production facilities.
