• Relevant experience in mechanical maintenance of raw material handling systems (FTP/RMHS), scrap yards, and heavy material transport equipment in a steel plant.

• Sound knowledge of mechanical systems used in bulk material handling (e.g., belt conveyors, crushers, feeders, vibrating screens, stackers, reclaimers, etc.).

• Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems used in forklifts and other handling equipment.

• Familiarity with alignment, lubrication practices, and vibration monitoring.

• Proficient in reading technical drawings, equipment manuals, and engineering standards.

To ensure the efficient handling of raw materials and scrap, we are seeking a capable and experienced Assistant Manager / Deputy Manager – FTP / RMHS / Scrap Yard (Mechanical) to oversee mechanical maintenance activities related to conveyors, cranes, forklifts, and other material handling equipment. The incumbent will report to the line head at MRSML plant.

Job Responsibilities:

• Supervise mechanical maintenance, inspection, and repair of material handling equipment including belt conveyors, EOT/gantry cranes, forklift trucks, and related systems to ensure uninterrupted material flow.
• Plan and execute preventive and corrective maintenance schedules to maintain equipment reliability and reduce unplanned downtime.
• Conduct routine inspections to detect wear, misalignment, or mechanical faults, and initiate timely repairs or replacements.
• Manage and maintain inventory of essential mechanical spare parts for FTP, RMHS, and Scrap Yard operations to support ongoing maintenance activities.
• Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols and standard operating procedures during equipment handling and maintenance tasks.
• Collaborate closely with operations and other maintenance teams to enhance overall efficiency in raw material receiving, storage, and feeding processes.
• Lead root cause analysis and mechanical troubleshooting efforts to resolve equipment breakdowns quickly and effectively.
• Train, guide, and supervise maintenance technicians and operators on proper mechanical servicing methods, preventive practices, and safety standards.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, repair history, and equipment performance for reporting and audit purposes.
