• Practical experience in mechanical maintenance of Electric Arc Furnaces (EAF) in a steel melt shop.

• Strong knowledge of furnace mechanics, hydraulics, cooling systems, and heavy mechanical components.

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, mechanical schematics, and OEM manuals.

• Familiarity with root cause analysis, condition monitoring, and maintenance planning tools.

The vision of this concern is to produce world-class re-rolling products and billets which will meet the uprising demand in the local market and will also bring significant economic growth by exporting around the globe. To ensure uninterrupted furnace operation, high safety standards, and mechanical reliability, we are looking for a capable and experienced Assistant Manager / Deputy Manager – EAF (Mechanical). The role demands strong leadership, hands-on technical skills, and the ability to manage maintenance activities. The incumbent will report to the line head at MRSML plant.

Job Responsibilities:

• Supervise mechanical maintenance and repair of EAF equipment, including furnace shell, electrodes, roof, cooling systems, and mechanical drives to ensure continuous operation.

• Plan and oversee preventive maintenance to prevent breakdowns and extend equipment life.

• Monitor mechanical system conditions and analyze failures to implement corrective actions promptly.

• Coordinate with production and maintenance teams for furnace downtime scheduling and turnaround activities.

• Manage inventory of mechanical spare parts and tools required for EAF maintenance to ensure availability.

• Enforce compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards in EAF operations to minimize risks.

• Lead troubleshooting efforts for mechanical issues during furnace operation to minimize downtime.

• Train and mentor mechanical technicians on EAF-specific equipment and safety protocols.

• Prepare and submit detailed maintenance reports and documentation for record keeping and analysis.
