• Relevant experience in electrical maintenance of Electric Arc Furnaces (EAF), preferably in a steel melt shop.

• Strong understanding of EAF electrical systems, including high-voltage transformers, rectifiers, VFDs, PLCs, SCADA, and automation controls.

• Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams, control schematics, and protection system documentation.

• Knowledge of predictive and condition-based maintenance tools (e.g., thermal imaging, insulation resistance testing, vibration analysis).

• Experience working with industrial safety systems, grounding/earthing protection, and energy isolation procedures (LOTO).

To ensure safe and uninterrupted electrical operation, MRSML is seeking a qualified and experienced Assistant Manager / Deputy Manager – EAF (Electrical). The selected individual will be responsible for managing all electrical maintenance activities related to the EAF and its auxiliary systems. The incumbent will report to the line head at MRSML plant.

Job Responsibilities:

• Supervise the electrical maintenance of EAF systems, including transformers, rectifiers, electrode regulation units, control panels, and process instrumentation to ensure safe and uninterrupted power supply.

• Plan and execute preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance tasks to reduce equipment failures and enhance system reliability.

• Monitor the performance of electrical systems, identify abnormalities, and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime and maintain production efficiency.

• Coordinate with production and cross-functional maintenance teams to schedule shutdowns, overhauls, and urgent repair activities.

• Manage the inventory of electrical spares and components, and ensure timely procurement to support uninterrupted maintenance operations.

• Ensure strict compliance with plant safety regulations, electrical codes, and standard operating procedures during all maintenance work.

• Provide technical guidance and on-the-job training to electrical technicians and maintenance personnel, particularly on EAF-specific systems.

• Maintain accurate documentation, including maintenance logs, inspection checklists, fault reports, and system performance records for operational transparency and future analysis.

• Collaborate with OEMs, service providers, and vendors for specialized electrical support, upgrades, and equipment overhauls when necessary.
