  • Relevant experience in the mechanical maintenance of heavy-duty cranes, preferably in the steel industry, will be an advantage.

  • In-depth knowledge of crane mechanical systems and preventive maintenance planning.

  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.

  • Good understanding of plant safety and statutory requirements.

  • Proven ability in team supervision and maintenance documentation.

Job Context:

Meghna Re-Rolling and Steel Mills Limited (MRSML), a concern of Meghna Group of Industries is going to establish a top-notch steel factory in Bangladesh with the latest European technologies and machinery having a production capacity of 1.5 million MT per annum. The vision of this concern is to produce world-class re-rolling products and billets which will meet the uprising demand in the local market and will also bring significant economic growth by exporting around the globe. MRSML is looking for competent and experienced professionals for the position of Assistant Manager / Deputy Manager – Crane (Mechanical). The incumbent will be responsible for supervising the mechanical maintenance and repair of heavy-duty cranes used throughout the steel plant to ensure safety, reliability, and maximum equipment uptime and will report to the line head.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise mechanical maintenance and repair of cranes to minimize downtime and ensure operational reliability.

  • Coordinate with operators and maintenance teams to schedule preventive maintenance and urgent repairs, reducing unexpected failures.

  • Monitor crane equipment conditions regularly to identify potential mechanical failures early and prevent breakdowns.

  • Manage spare parts inventory related to crane mechanical components to ensure availability for timely repairs.

  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standard operating procedures during crane operation and maintenance to maintain a safe working environment.

  • Analyze mechanical performance data to identify trends and recommend improvements for enhanced efficiency.

  • Lead troubleshooting activities to resolve complex mechanical issues and restore equipment functionality quickly.

  • Train and guide mechanical technicians in best practices and safety protocols to build a skilled maintenance team.

  • Prepare maintenance reports and documentation for crane mechanical work to track activities and compliance.

  • Prepare and maintain detailed logs, service reports, maintenance schedules, and compliance documentation for audits and internal reporting.
