Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Journalism, Media Studies, Development Studies, Social Science, or related field.
Required Skills & Competencies
• Strong writing skills in Bangla and basic English (reports, case studies, documentation).
• Ability to capture good-quality field photos and short video clips.
• Basic knowledge of graphic design tools (Canva, Illustrator, etc.) is an advantage.
• Familiarity with branding and communication standards of UN/INGO projects.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with field communities (especially women).
• Good understanding of Rohingya and host community dynamics.
• Ability to travel frequently to camps and field locations.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Ability to talk local language will get preference.
Workstation & Travel
• Based in Cox’s Bazar with frequent travel to Camps 5, 8W, 11 and host community production centres.
• Must be comfortable working in humanitarian field conditions and engaging directly with artisans.

Position Summary:
The Assistant Communication Officer will support project communication, documentation, visibility, and knowledge management activities under the eco-friendly handicrafts and toys project. The role will assist in collecting field content, preparing reports, documenting success stories, supporting communication materials, maintaining records, and contributing to brand promotion and market linkage events. This position plays a key role in ensuring transparency, evidence generation, and effective communication with project stakeholders including ILO, IOM, Light of Hope, local authorities, and communities.
Key Responsibilities:
A. Communication & Visibility Support
•Assist in implementing the project’s communication and visibility plan in alignment with ILO/ESDO guidelines.
•Support development of communication materials (flyers, banners, posters, social media content, videos).
•Assist Light of Hope and ESDO teams during brand promotion, field events, and marketing campaigns.
•Capture high-quality photos/videos from training, production hubs, artisan activities, product showcasing, and field visits.
•Ensure all materials follow branding rules of ILO, IOM, ESDO, Light of Hope, and the Goofi brand.
B. Documentation & Knowledge Management
•Collect stories, case studies, beneficiary profiles, and field evidence for reporting and communication.
•Support the KM Officer in preparing monthly progress updates, dashboards, and documentation outputs.
•Maintain organized digital and physical documentation, including:
o training reports
o attendance, production logs
o quality control records
o monitoring summaries
o event documentation
• Assist in developing two project knowledge updates as required in the project plan.
C. Reporting & Field Data Support
• Support MEAL team during baseline, monitoring, and end-line assessments.
• Collect community feedback, beneficiaries’ quotes, and testimonials.
• Contribute to quarterly reports, donor updates, meeting minutes, and presentations.
• Work with production centres to document product samples, packaging, and before/after progress of artisans.
D. Coordination & Event Support
• Support organizing M&E workshops, training events, marketing events, and coordination meetings.
• Coordinate with field teams, trainers, QC officers, and centre managers for content collection.
• Facilitate communication with camp-level stakeholders and local authorities (CiC offices, host community leaders).
• Assist during buyer visits, promotional events, and regional sales drives.
E. Digital Content & File Management
• Maintain digital folder structures for photos, videos, reports, and field documents.
• Assist in preparing content for social media, newsletters, and digital campaigns in collaboration with Light of Hope.
• Support the creation of short video clips, artisan stories, and product demonstration footage.
