Educational Requirements:
∎ B.Sc. in CSE / IT / Software Engineering / EEE or relevant subject from any UGC approved university
Experience Requirements:
∎ 5 to 8 year(s)
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Plan and deliver specific implementation tasks based on the strategy set and agreed by management for Toffee Web + Smart TV / Android Platforms
∎ Develop timeline in alignment with technical service provider to deliver specific components laid down in the roadmap
∎ Execution plan by breaking down the roadmap into various sprints and assigning respective tasks and deadline to technical service provider
∎ Weekly review meeting to follow-up on specific action points related to product development/enhancement/bug fixes/test plan/release plan
∎ Lead and work to identify bottlenecks, rectify bugs and enhance application performance
∎ Maintain existing applications by identifying and correcting software defects by optimizing them at the code level
∎ Supporting QA team through performing unit and instrumentation tests on code
∎ Execute engineering plans that involves cross-functional team work in alignment with product roadmap and growth KPIs
∎ Support line manager to develop processes for development related tasks and ensure compliance by self to set the standard for others
∎ Monitor work against the production schedule closely and provide progress updates and report any issues or technical difficulties to Line Manager and Senior colleagues on a regular basis
Additional Requirements:
∎ At least 5 years working experience with Web development and/or Smart TV apps, with proven track record of at least 2-3 years in software development lifecycle management
∎ Required Capabilities
∎ Strong understanding of the OTT industry, and app development in general
∎ Track record of working cross-functionally and influencing senior leadership across groups
∎ Sound knowledge in video contents and content management functions
∎ The ability to evaluate opportunities and progress towards goals without getting bogged down by complexity or ambiguity
∎ Demonstrated ability to read/understand technical documentation and build/integrate software products/technologies into products
∎ The ability to form consensus across a broad, fast-moving organization
∎ Experience working in continuous delivery environments where the pace is fast and a focus on execution is critical
∎ Expertise of application design and methodologies, especially related to Web platforms
∎ A history of mentoring strong developers and contributing to the engineering community
∎ Good analytical and problem-solving ability
∎ Team-player who operates in a fast-paced team-oriented setting
∎ A willingness to fail and learn
∎ Ability to be discrete and maintain confidential information
∎ Proficiency in Web specific technologies such as HTML5, JavaScript, and others for 5+ years
∎ Proficiency in Android specific technologies such as Java, Kotlin, and others for 5+ years
∎ Expertise in tools such as Git, JIRA, etc. for development process and code review management
∎ Good understanding of challenges faced and metrics used to measure and improve performance and scalability
∎ Prior experience defining unit/integration test cases and automating them with appropriate tools
∎ Demonstrated ability to keep track of platform/OS upgrades and take proactive steps to ensure smooth upgrade
∎ Nice to have prior experience of integrating video playback and DRM technologies in web apps
∎ Nice to have prior experience in building smart TV apps
