Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science/Studies, Government & Public Policy/ Administration, International Relations, Economics or a closely related field. A master`s degree is preferred, but applicants with extensive relevant work experience will be considered equally.
Professional Experience
5 years of professional working experience in the field of liaison, coordination, or stakeholder relations role with at least one of the partners listed above. Previous experience with other relevant listed partners will be considered as an asset.
5 years of professional working experience with the textile industry, environmental regulations, e-waste or communal waste management. Previous experience with circular economy approaches is a major plus.
Other knowledge, additional competences
Strong facilitation, moderation and interpersonal skills
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management tools.
Proven experience with digital data systems and communication tools
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Bengali and English
Strong report writing and data management skills
Willingness to travel regularly to project sites, including rural areas
Proven ability to establish priorities, plan and coordinate tasks
Ability to work effectively under pressure and contribute as a strong team player.
Ability to work successfully in an intercultural environment.

GIZ in Bangladesh is currently seeking applications for the position of “Advisor- Government Liaison & Coordination" under ‘Support to the Circular Economy and Sustainable Waste Management (CIRCLE)’ project.
Contract Duration: 1 year (with possibility of extension)

Responsibilities
The position holder is responsible for:
Managing an area of responsibility that forms part of the programme objectives, team agreements and/or agreements with the superior.
Assisting project/programme initiatives to provide professional advisory services to and cooperate with a broad range of target groups.
Advise supervisor on all tasks when implementing GIZ rules and regulations.
Advise supervisor in the field of project planning, steering and monitoring.
Independently implement goals and requirements set by the line manager.
Make decisions which have a short-term effect within a limited project area/ unit.
Assist supervisor to identify day to day problem and suggest appropriate solutions.
The position holder is responsible for the following tasks
Tasks
Build and maintain strong relationships with and among CIRCLE stakeholders (i.e. MoEFCC, LGD, ERD, MoC, DoE, BGMEA, local municipalities and others)
Coordinate communication and facilitate collaboration between CIRCLE and its stakeholders as well as CIRCLE and other GIZ projects to achieve mutual goals
Establish and maintain close relations with the project’s counterparts on a national and local level
Support the project’s initiative to provide professional advice and input to, and to cooperate with, a broad range of stakeholders and target groups,
Integrate results and experiences into team efforts and into all relevant groups
Monitor partnership agreements, follow up on deliverables, and ensure compliance
Provide feedback and reports to management regarding stakeholder needs and concerns
Identify new potential areas for collaboration or improvement in existing relationships
Handle conflict resolution and mediate disputes where necessary
Maintain up-to-date records of correspondence, agreements, and contact lists
Any other responsibilities as required and assigned by the supervisor.
