Experience:

• At least 2 years

• The incumbent must have four (4) years honours degree in Statistics, Applied Statistics and Data Science, Information Technology, Information Communication Technology, Computer Science & Engineering, Mathematics, Applied Mathematics.

• At least 2 years

• Age At least 24 years

• Minimum two (2) years of relevant experience in data management, MIS, database management, monitoring, reporting or related areas.

• Ability to perform Database Performance Tuning and Optimization

• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, data cleaning, validation, pivot tables and reporting.

• Knowledge of IBAS++ and/or World Bank Client Connection is preferred.

• Strong analytical, organizational and data management skills with attention to detail.

• Experience with Power BI, dashboards, web development, Cloud ERP or software development is an advantage.

• Experience with World Bank/Development Partner-funded projects or programmes in livelihoods, social protection, disaster response or community development is preferred.

• Experience in Web Development, Cloud ERP System; Software Development Experience will be given preference.

For the past three decades, our work in Bangladesh has made a significant impact, and we are now looking for a Data Management Specialist.
The Role: Bangladesh Sustainable Recovery, Emergency Preparedness and Response Project (B-STRONG) is a World Bank-funded initiative aimed at supporting flood recovery, strengthening disaster resilience, and protecting livelihoods in Bangladesh. It follows a Build Back Better approach through resilient infrastructure, livelihood recovery, community disaster preparedness, agricultural restoration, and improved project management. Under its ‘Community Recovery and Resilience to Disasters’ component, the Department of Disaster Management (DDM) implements Employment Generation Program for the Poorest Plus (EGPP+) in 10 Upazilas across three districts, Feni, Brahmanbaria, and Chattogram. EGPP+ will provide temporary employment and income support to flood-affected and vulnerable households through public works and community services.
The Data Management Specialist will be responsible for establishing, managing and maintaining an effective data management and Management Information System (MIS) function for EGPP+, ensuring the systematic capture, verification, digitization, management and reporting of beneficiary profiles, sub-project information, daily attendance records and payment-related data. The position holder will coordinate data entry processes, maintain data quality and integrity, and apply appropriate data validation, quality-control and data management procedures to ensure completeness, consistency, accuracy, timeliness and usability of project data. The Specialist will analyze primary and secondary data, prepare data summaries and reports, and provide reliable and timely information to the Team Leader and the Project Implementation Unit (PIU) to support implementation monitoring, reporting and evidence-based decision-making. The position will also provide technical guidance and support to Data Entry Operators and field teams, contribute to strengthening their capacity in data management and MIS processes, and support the resolution of data-related issues and discrepancies. The role will be based in and provide intensive support across the Feni, Brahmanbaria and Chattogram project locations, with regular coordination and travel to the relevant Upazilas and field-level implementation areas.
Job Location: Based in Dhaka, Bangladesh, with 50% travel requirement
