Experience:
At least one year of work experience in the Nutrition Program.
Previous working experience in CMAM and field-level NGO/INGO experience.
Proven experience as a team player.
Competent in the use of Microsoft Office computer programs including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Ability to work effectively under stress in a challenging camp environment.

Job Context
Provide technical support and guide the implementation of nutrition interventions in the Improving Maternal and Child Nutrition (IMCN) project. The Union Nutrition Supervisor (UNS) will ensure the effective and efficient implementation of activities directly related to the management of Moderate Acute Malnutrition, Infant and Young Child feeding, friendly community initiatives, and capacity building of Community Nutrition Volunteers (CNV) in the respective union.
Job Location: Office-based in Moheshkhali/Pekua, with occasional field visits as needed
Key Responsibilities:
Programmatic and technical support to implement CMAM and medical protocols in line with national guidelines.
Facilitate and coordinate IMCN project-related activities, including meetings, trainings and field activities.
Supervise CNV’s, capacity buildup and mentoring CNV’s for smooth TSFP operations and outreach activities.
Supervise and monitor CNVs in conducting accurate health checkup for referred 6-59 (M) children and PLW.
Ensure adherence to admission and discharge criteria and protocol understanding.
Provide routine training to CNVs based on IMCN protocols.
Monitor and facilitate health and nutrition education sessions, day observation events, and SBCC activities.
Ensure growth monitoring and promotion (GMP) for children under five.
Ensure facilities are equipped with required nutrition supplies, equipment, and SBCC materials.
Develop a monitoring plan, interpretation of field findings, and verification.
Networking and Coordinating with stakeholders at the union and Upazila levels, including government authorities.
Ensure accurate data recording & timely reporting for program implementation and related activities.
Document and file information according to donor requirements.
Document evidence-based lessons learned, successes, and challenges
Programmatic and technical support:
Actively participate in planning, implementing, monitoring, being accountable, and ensuring the quality of the IMCN project to ensure the success of the nutrition program in the host community
Provide technical support for field operations to ensure seamless and effective project operations in compliance with guidelines, protocols, and IMCN services by regular field visits.
Ensure the community screening, identification, medical checkup, admission, and discharge criteria are maintained appropriately according to protocol, as well as strengthening beneficiary management
GMP analysis such as: identifying the category of malnutrition, calculating the nutritional status of a community, and monitoring GMP activities.
MUAC scoring, analyze early MUAC detection summarize the report, and prepare an action plan based on the report
Monthly update and maintain Child and PLW databases and ensure monthly screening format to maintain household screening records
Identify field-level training needs, challenges, and gaps and develop need-based solutions during implementation.
Take a corrective action plan based on the findings of the capacity assessment and implement appropriate tactics for increasing the capacity of the community nutrition volunteer (CNV)
Assist in the setting up and smooth operation of supplementary feeding programs in the CC and UH&FWC.
Capacity strengthening support
Supervise CNV’s to meet the maximum coverage, to meet the screening, referral, admission, and follow-up targets, and to ensure they understand and implement the CMAM protocol
Capacitate the CNV`s by identifying the training needs and providing on-the-job training (OJT) based on capacity assessments.
Facilitate formal training for volunteers / Model Mothers if needed.
Team building and establishing a good working environment to ensure good harmony within the team and to support and respect each other
Foster a friendly team culture by encouraging collaboration and hold regular meetings to discuss and document lessons learned
Meeting, Coordination and collaboration
Participate in community-level mobilization and sensitization activities such as stakeholder meetings, male forum meetings, union parisad meetings etc
Maintain good coordination and network with Govt health staff (UH&FPO, HI, AHI, UFPO, FPI, SACMO & CHCP) and provide support if needed, to run the CC activities effectively and smoothly by understanding mutual agenda and goals.
Reporting& Documentation
Develop quality reports: daily field visit report, monthly case study, situation reports, events report, monthly reports, quarterly reports, project completion report etc. as per WV and/donor(s) reporting guidelines
Monthly program final report compilation, cross check and submission to line Manager
Ensure accurate data recording & timely reporting.
Others:
Ensure proper utilization of resources and accountability to the program.
Coordinate with UNC to ensure comprehensive community outreach, mobilization, health education, and treatment are undertaken per the guidelines
Document and file all relevant information for the targeted group according to the donor’s requirement.
Special Note
The Upazilla Nutrition Coordinator may be assigned additional responsibilities as deemed necessary by the Nutrition Coordinator of GK.
