Mechanical troubleshooting

Welding & fabrication basics

Ability to read mechanical drawings

1) Operate, monitor, and maintain mechanical equipment used in LABSA production such as - Tig Welding, Sulphonation reactors, Falling film reactors, Heat exchangers, Pumps (centrifugal, gear, dosing), Blowers and compressors, Storage tanks and pipelines,

2) Ensure uninterrupted operation of critical rotating and static equipment.

3) Execute scheduled preventive maintenance programs, Vibration Analysis, Temperature monitoring and Lubrication checks.

4) Identify early signs of wear, corrosion, leakage, or mechanical failure.

5) Mechanical troubleshooting and root cause analysis (RCA).

6) Assist in installation of new machinery, pipelines, and utilities, Alignment of pumps, motors, and couplings, Support commissioning of new plant sections or expansion projects.

7) Follow strict safety procedures for working in hazardous chemical environments, Ensure proper use of PPE, Implement lockout–tagout (LOTO) procedures, Prevent mechanical hazards (rotating parts, pressure systems, hot surfaces).

8) Spare Parts & Inventory Coordination; a) Identify critical spare requirements. b) Assist in spare parts planning and inventory control. c) Ensure availability of consumables (gaskets, seals, bearings, lubricants).

9) Maintain mechanical systems of utilities such as -Boilers, Cooling towers, Chilled water systems, Effluent treatment plant equipment.
