Job Responsibilities:
∎ The Opportunity: The Technical Specialist - Accountability will work with program team and MEAL team to put the children and communities at the centre of our work through supporting the Country Office to integrate child-friendly, gender-sensitive, inclusive, accessible, and appropriate accountability systems and child participation in all development context. This position will primarily be responsible to run and maintain the online FRM portal of SCI Bangladesh. The position holder will also stimulate and encourage wider understanding in accountability practices to include Feedback Response Mechanisms as well as quantitative and qualitative data analysis. The post holder will be expected to support to build capacity of MEAL, technical and programme staff as well as partner staff. With the support of the sector MEAL staff provide in-depth analysis through regular reviews of our complaints and feedback mechanisms to inform adaptation in programme implementation, and ensure community feedback informs future project design, thus building a culture of openness, transparency, learning and continual improvement.
∎ This role is intended to support the team on our global strategic initiatives (including Shifting the Power) as well as our commitment to the Core Humanitarian Standard and the Grand Bargain Participation Revolution. SCI is organisationally committed to adhering to the Core Humanitarian Standards (CHS), predominantly CHS 4 and 5 (accountability related) to be applied in both humanitarian and development settings.

Additional Requirements:
∎ At least 5 years' experience preferably in Qualitative Research, MEAL/Accountability, and/or Programme.
∎ Excellent communication and influencing skills, with a proven record of convincing senior leadership to support improvements in program quality.
∎ Excellent knowledge of the field of communication and community engagement, including key sector commitments such as the Core Humanitarian Standard (CHS) and Grand Bargain Participation Revolution.
∎ Experience in setting up accountability systems, especially feedback and reporting mechanisms.
∎ Experience in safe, meaningful, and ethical child participation.
∎ Experience of qualitative data analysis and writing clear and well-argued reports.
∎ Proven ability in using data and analysis to influence programmatic change.
∎ Proven capacity to supervise, train and coach/mentor staff.
∎ Commitment to the aims and principles of Save the Children. In particular, a good understanding of the Save the Children mandate and child rights and an ability to ensure this continues to underpin our support.
