Educational Requirements:
∎ University degree within Architecture, urban planning or civil engineering relevant to development and management of human settlements, water, sanitation or public health, or another relevant field of study.

∎ The project - Enhance Emergency Responses through Social and Economic protection for Urban slum dwellers for addressing new normal situation of Covid-19 – implemented by Eco-Social Development Organization (ESDO) & Muslim Aid Bangladesh Field Office (MABFO) funded by Climate Bridge Fund (CBF) aims to increase the resilience of Covid-19 affected and displaced slum population in selected slums (located at vodro leker par, vodro rail par and Daspukur) under Rajshahi City Corporation area by increasing social protection and ensuring sustainable livelihood through ensuring access to proper water, sanitation, increasing awareness related to Covid-19, and providing technical training to make the population skilful enough to get a work or be an entrepreneur or get a job. Improved WASH practices will help the slum dwellers to prevent themselves from water borne diseases and hence will reduce out of pocket expenditure. This will ultimately result in increased resilience. This project will also address gender - slum women, Persons with Disabilities (PWD), transgender community and elderly people - in all of its components.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Work in a team of multicultural and multi-skilled staff members of the partner org. and Muslim Aid;
∎ Ensure the smooth, efficient and effective start-up and implementation of the WASH marketing and hygiene behavioural change components of the project;
∎ Advise the field team in WASH programming, in coordination with other actors and stakeholders;
∎ Ensure development of detailed implementation plans, collection of appropriate baseline and monitoring data, including clear process and impact indicators, and effective project monitoring and evaluation procedures to ensure accountability;
∎ Establish partnership with the other senior technical staff, to establish and maintain good relationships with project co-implementers, government ministries and departments, NGOs working in the area and other key stakeholders.
∎ Attend coordination meetings as when appropriate and necessary to ensure that activities are coordinated with relevant stakeholders, including communities.
∎ Ensure quality and integrity of implementation, including adherence to technical guidelines, administrative systems, and established deadlines;
∎ Identify and address staff capacity building opportunities and building up capacity according to the needs identified;
∎ Evaluate the relevance and appropriateness of current and future programming in relation to water, sanitation and hygiene promotion in the local context.
∎ Design and estimat cost of WASH infrastructures, site selection and provide lay out of the infrastructures considering the urban context and implement those with quality manner;
∎ Ensure that the inclusion issues are addressed in construction of WASH infrastructures.
∎ Prepare the activity plan and monitoring;
∎ Ensure active participation of community people, beneficiaries, local elites, City Corporation and other stakeholders in planning, implementation and monitoring of the WASH infrastructures;
∎ Ensure that the Covid-19 health instructions are followed and all necessary precautionary measures are undertaken in implementation and monitoring of the interventions;
∎ Contribute to the preparation of internal and external reports for the donor and partners;
∎ Ensure branding and visibility of implementing and technical partner including funding agency as and when required;
∎ Liaise with senior technical staff of Muslim Aid and leading partner to ensure adequate supports from them to implement the interventions as per plan in a quality manner.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at most 45 years
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
∎ A minimum of three years of experience in relevant field with I/NGOs
∎ Extensive experience in the WASH sector and a very good understanding of the social processes relating to WASH in developing country contexts.
∎ Sound computer skills with proficiency in software such as water modelling software, GIS and Autocad will be an added advantage.
∎ Expertise in planning, formulation, implementation, monitoring and reporting on humanitarian operations.
∎ Strong written and oral communication skills in both Bangla and English.
∎ Knowledge of the humanitarian community, including donors, governments and relevant international and regional organisations.
∎ Ability to conduct data analysis using various methods, and apply judgement in the context of assignments given.
∎ Working knowledge of the LogFrame approach will be highly regarded as well.

Salary: Tk. 55000 - 60000 (Monthly)
