Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Collaborate with local health authorities to facilitate smooth implementation of project activities.
∎ Organize and conduct awareness programs for government staff and communities on climate change and its health impacts.
∎ Develop and distribute communication materials tailored to the needs of urban and rural populations.
∎ Plan and deliver training sessions for government staff and community groups (CSG) on climate change resilience and health risks.
∎ Support the identification of community-based organizations (CBOs) and youth groups for project collaboration and conduct their capacity building.
∎ Organizing health campaigns meeting to address climate-related health risks, such as vector control, heatwave preparedness, and waterborne disease prevention with housing societies in urban setting.
∎ Conduct cleaning campaign with CBOs, youth group and outsourcing other stakeholder to the urban setting.
∎ Track the progress of activities in assigned areas and ensure timely reporting and submitting the essential data to the central level as per requirement.
∎ Facilitate emergency health responses in climate-related crises, ensuring the continuation of essential services.
∎ Coordinate with local health authorities to provide timely interventions during extreme weather events.SAFEGUARDING RESPONSIBILITIES:
∎ Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organization and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme's goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
∎ Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
∎ Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.
∎ With the support of The Global Fund, The Climate Change and Health Project aims to raise awareness about the health impacts of climate change, particularly the rise in vector-borne and communicable diseases. By engaging local communities, health authorities, and relevant stakeholders, the project focuses on preventive measures, early warning systems, and capacity building to reduce the health risks associated with climate change. Activities include advocacy campaigns, training for health workers, seasonal health updates, and the identification and elimination of disease breeding grounds.
∎ The project strives to enhance community resilience and promote sustainable health practices in the face of climate challenges.
